Hey Everyone,

Here in the USA, winter storm warnings are raging across the country. Blizzards and freezing temperatures are sweeping across many states. In my own area, we had a power outage last week, but fortunately it only lasted a few hours. (Many thanks to @Talljake and everyone else out there working so hard to make sure everyday people like us stay warm.)

I've been out and about in the snowy, slushy weather all week... I woke up yesterday not feeling very well, but was thankful God gave me the strength to press through.

I had a list of things I wanted to catch up on today, but I think God is telling me to just rest!

And so, I'm sitting at home, thinking about how much more beautiful falling snow is when I don't have to go out into it! And now I'm contemplating fixing some hot cocoa...

How about all of you?

* What's the weather been like where you live, and how have you been coping? (Do you tend to get sick this time of year, etc.?)

* What do you like/dislike about this kind of weather?

* What are your favorite activities in the winter months?

I realize that it's also summer in some areas of the world, so we would love to hear what things are like wherever you are!

Well hopefully you are staying safe 😊. Over here in the mass area, it's pouring on and off with little winds. Not much going on in the work department. That's good though, it means people have power. As long as people are safe then things are good. We are very tired from working nights. We go back in at 10 pm tonight. we just got off the clock.

I actually love the snow....it's the cold that gets me sometimes. Hot apple cider on a winter day, if you have not tried it you definitely should. It is very good.

I'm off to bed Miss. Seoul . Have a wonderful day, I will be back on later if you would like to chat😊. Enjoy your coco and don't forget to smile ❤️

It started snowing here on Thursday just before I was to leave work... and then my boss way-laid me and we talked for about half an hour before I walked out the door, so there was a fair amount of snow by then - our first of the season. Many of the roads I drive on did not seem to have been salted at all, and downhill traverses were downright treacherous. My sister in Calgary always laughs at any of her siblings who complain about the cold or snow. They had snow in August one summer, and this past week was around close to minus forty with windchill factor. I heard we were going to get -14 (that's Celsius) this week, which is quite cold for day-time temperatures. Last year when it went down to -13, I looked up our records and found that it was not entirely unusual, but those were night-time temps, which don't concern me so much, so I don't pay much attention to them. The fresh snow on the mountaintops looked very pretty in the rosy dawn light. I noticed the same palette of very warm colours in the clouds yesterday as I was driving to work...

I had bought a new/used car last summer, and called the dealership to talk to the young man who sold it to me to
make sure I had anti-freeze/coolant (or whatever it is called) in my rad and windshield wiper systems. Affirmative!

They keep hollering snow around here. I'll believe it when I see it.

Everybody is buying milk and bread like they will never be able to purchase it again. It's a southern thing. When there is snow in the forecast you go buy milk and bread. Don't ask why. Just stock up.

People in the north do that as well, but they clear the stores for a reason.

As a kid, we had some snowfalls that kept everyone inside and stores closed for a week or more at a time. Highways are closed and people are snowed in on their own driveways.

Maybe these Southern folk scooping up all the rations have Northern relatives who have told them such winter tales...

Or maybe they're afraid of another Northern Aggression, this time in blizzard form. ☃️❄️🏂🏼

I just went for a small wander through my neighbourhood, and saw a temperature display
saying it was 16 (F) or -9 (C), but it did not feel that cold out at all! In fact, if it had it not
been for a slight breeze, it would have felt absolutely balmy out! The sun is shining...

This is my preferred time of year. I like the long cold nights and the short days.
Sitting around a fire, cooking over a fire, drinking coffee ... Its paradise! 😁

What happens if you - and your neighbor - run out of trees?

I mean, I assume if you run out of trees, you "borrow" your neighbors's...

But what happens when you run out of neighbors with trees?! 😳🌲🌳🌴🏡

Oh there are plenty of trees. So long as they don't run over my water line again, all will be fine! 😁

Nice try, but you don't cut sapplings...at least not more than once. I just meant that there is no reason to think trees will run out. City people...smh.

Yup.

Now this is what I'm talking about...

If that neighbor cuts over Rodney's property again, he might just come home to a big naked patch of yard. 😳😁😂
