K.J. Version 1 John 4:9, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him.”
N.I.V. 1 John 4:9, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”
As the only begotten Son, proves the relationship between the Father and the Messiah, who as the viceregent of the Father, is figuratively called His Son, and whom therefore the Father is figuratively said to beget, also to appoint, to declare as a king. Acts 13:33, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.”
