Are you one of the top Greek grammarians in the world? Can you order a pizza in Greek? Is it your native tongue? Do you live in Greece? Granted, Koine Greek is an ancient form of Greek, but obviously need to know Modern Greek first to be able to tackle the ancient form of it. But even still, the problem here is “what if.”
What if God had in fact preserved His Words perfectly in one book today and you are simply messing with His book? See, I wanted to create an update for the KJV a few years ago, and I stopped. Why? Because I could be potentially changing His words. I could be adding and subtracting from God’s words by doing so. The warning in Revelation should scare you. It says if you take away words, God will take your name out of the book of life. If you add words, God will add the plagues within the book upon you. This is just Revelation many of you will say. But Textual Critics also alter the book of Revelation, too. So what if. What if you are wrong? To me, it is too much of a gamble to make my own Bible. The stakes are too high. If I lose my own soul in the process, it’s not worth it.
