They still need to line up wiht the word of God.i never just pick one, it needs to be a conglomerate view from at least 50 of them
This is why I asked you at the outset what is the subject. You said abiding. That is correct. So what is being taught is the difference between those who are truly abiding and those who are not. And the answer is...the ones who are abiding bear fruit.but Jesus said the Branch is Connected to Him, He uses the words [IN ME].
so, they are Believers.
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit
How can jesus say he never knew them, if they were attached to him (saved)this is why this makes more sense to me:
22. Many will say to me in that day, 'My Lord, my Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name have cast out demons, and have done many mighty works in your name?'
23. And then I will confess to them, 'I have never known you, remove yourselves far from me, you workers of evil.'
but i never said that. This is why I asked you at the outset what is the subject. You said abiding. That is correct. So what is being taught is the difference between those who are truly abiding and those who are not. And the answer is...the ones who are abiding bear fruit.
The illustration is not dealing with the subject of eternal security. If it were, it would be told differently. Not every illustration makes every point. Otherwise, when Jesus commends the unjust steward, one could conclude that Jesus is advocating for sin. But we know He wasn't. And neither is Jesus teaching here that salvation can be lost.
Romans 8 teaches that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. This being the case, the use of...in me...here must have a different meaning and purpose.but Jesus said the Branch is Connected to Him, He uses the words [IN ME].
so, they are Believers.
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit
but i never said that.
i just present the facts of Scripture.
you can make your own conclusion, i don't have to do anything.
we can ONLY be a Branch connected to Christ if we are SAVED!!
the LOST, can never be connected to Christ as a Branch.
so, this is about the Saved, Jesus, is talking about.
From what I have studied, this is the great white throne judgement. It is for unbelievers only. "In that day" is the final judgment, and every knee shall bow......Hence the "my Lord,my lord."this is why this makes more sense to me:
22. Many will say to me in that day, 'My Lord, my Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name have cast out demons, and have done many mighty works in your name?'
23. And then I will confess to them, 'I have never known you, remove yourselves far from me, you workers of evil.'
He said they practices lawlessness. They practiced sin. From what I have studied, this is the great white throne judgement. It is for unbelievers only. "In that day" is the final judgment, and every knee shall bow......Hence the "my Lord,my lord."
The frightening thing to me is the fact that these people did MIGHTY works in His name and not one sin is mentioned. These were obviously, good , moral, upstanding and law abiding people. From what they claim they did for the Lord, we can assume they were church goers also.
Not one sin mentioned, but the Lord called them evildoers.
Why were they not saved? Thoughts?
God still loves those who Reject Him.Romans 8 teaches that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. This being the case, the use of...in me...here must have a different meaning and purpose.
Who has overcome the world?look what Jesus said here:
5 He that overcomes, he shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
so this reference:
22. Many will say to me in that day, 'My Lord, my Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name have cast out demons, and have done many mighty works in your name?'
^
have been blotted out.
why would Jesus know those who reject Him in the same way as those who obey Him?
So what happens when they get cut off, are they still saved?God still loves those who Reject Him.
He died for them, didn't He?
a DEAD Branch is someone who rejects Him to the point of not producing fruit.
and you cannot be a BRANCH unless you are Saved.
Yes we dodoes someone not know Jesus is speaking in those Verses on post #489?
because, last i remember, Jesus' Words outrank His Disciples.
and the Disciples would only be verifying Jesus' Words.
never the other way around
Again, what does it mean to be cast into the fire.. are they still saved?does someone not know Jesus is speaking in those Verses on post #489?
because, last i remember, Jesus' Words outrank His Disciples.
and the Disciples would only be verifying Jesus' Words.
never the other way around
Don't concentrate on the love but the separation from it. Are you suggesting that people in hell are not separated from the love of God?God still loves those who Reject Him.
He died for them, didn't He?
a DEAD Branch is someone who rejects Him to the point of not producing fruit.
and you cannot be a BRANCH unless you are first Saved.
you can only not be producing fruit by personal choice, to become, a DEAD Branch.Don't concentrate on the love but the separation from it. Are you suggesting that people in hell are not separated from the love of God?
Agreed. I should have payed more attention. He said they practices lawlessness. They practiced sin.
They were not saved because they did not believe..
These works they try to use shows they tried to earn salvation by works.. which is why they will speak of their works and boast in them
