Do I have a besetting sin?

Of course I do. I tend to get angry, And I lack trust in people.. But its all rotted in my self.. which is the true sin.

When you’re worried about personal sin and use that to determine how righteous you are. You re in danger, because you fail to get to the root of why you sin and the cause of those personal sins..

Thats why legalism is so dangerous. It focuses on the outward and not the inward.
you just wrote 5 sentences justifying this ONE SIN.

you did not repent of it.

this is why Jesus COMMANDED to repent Daily!

It is a godly sorrow that works repentance in us. He's wrong about what repentance does, but not what it consists in.

Definition. True Christian repentance involves a heartfelt conviction of sin, a contrition over the offense to God, a turning away from the sinful way of life, and a turning towards a God-honoring way of life.

I was commenting toward the initial statement of the referenced post, which is not that.

I don't disagree with your definition.

The thought is there.
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
[d]For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

The actual only thing it says to do daily is for God to give us our daily bread

repent means I turn around and go 180 out. it means I change my mind

People make a religious word out of it. and try to make it say something it never said.

I will not come to faith UNLESS I repent..

Once I have repented. i do not keep repenting. I already did..

I do not follow calvin

Nor do i follow the law. Thats what you do.

when are you going to show me in the word. and stop attacking me by saying i believe something I do not?

Thats what legalists do. because they can;t stand on the word.

I see.

The original statement was that Jesus did not say something..

that's why I was confused by your statement.. sorry

I see. How often do you believe we ought to ask God to lead us not into temptation or to hallow God's name?

It is only a humble and contrite heart that the Lord does not despise. Whether you want to consider this part of repentance or simply attends it makes little difference to me.
The distinction you make about relying on an act on our part as a condition of salvation is a good distinction, but any repentance instigated by God has an element of sorrow, and every request received by God requires both humility and contrition.

You only repent once each time you commit a particular sin or only one time for any particular sin?

repent is just to change ones view.

alot goes into it. and alot comes out of it

But to repent means literally to change ones mind..nothing more, nothing less.

I used to believe the United states was a great nation. And god was blessing that

I have since repented.. I no longer believe this. My actions and beliefs have changed because of this repentance. But it is not the repentance.

Anger is a sin. I believe it.

When I get angry. I do not repent. I already believed it was a sin.

I confess it..

let not mix repentance and confession, they are two different things
