Side Note:

While water baptism is a part of Sanctification, it is not a salvation issue (See: 1 Peter 3:21, 1 Corinthians 1:17).
...
Paul's comment in 1 Corinthians about not being sent to baptize is not intended to negate the necessity for baptism. But rather that administering baptism was not a primary ministerial responsibility of his. We know this because he did in fact preach the need for baptism, as well as revealed what occurs when a person is obedient to the command. (Acts 19:1-6, Rom. 6:3-6, Col. 2:10-12) Notice Paul's comment about only baptized Crispus, Gaius and the household of Stephanas. (1 Cor. 1:15-16)
The actual account of the baptism of Crispus reveals a truth many overlook. ALL of Crispus' household believed and was baptized yet Paul only administered baptism to Crispus. This indicates others traveling with Paul took on the responsibility in regards to the other family members. As stated Paul's primary ministry was preaching but on occasion he administered the baptism he preached.

Acts 18:6-8
When you examine Paul's ministry in Corinth you will see that he was fulfilling the Lord's commission given in Matt 28:19-20. Paul came to Corinth ("Go'), he won sinners to Christ ("make disciples'), he baptized, and he taught them (note Acts 18:11). He even experienced the assurance of the Lord's "Lo, I am with thee always!" (Acts 18:9-10)

Pauls associates baptized most of the new converts (1 Cor 1:11-17), just as our Lord's disciples did when He ministered on earth (John 4:1-2; and note Acts 10:46-48). The important thing is the believer's obedience to the Lord and not the name of the minister who does the baptizing.

As to 1 Peter 3:21, the scripture reveals baptism is a salvation issue.

1 Peter 3:20-21
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

I believe the Bible teaches two aspects of salvation.
I believe Christians are first….

#1. Saved by God’s grace through faith without works (Ephesians 2:8-9) and can include repentance in most cases (Which is seeking forgiveness with the Lord Jesus). The entrance gate is believing the gospel message in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Cornelius and his family simply believed and the Spirit came upon them (i.e., they were saved).
#2. Sanctification (Which is to live holy by the Spirit, which includes putting away sin, good works, and obeying God’s commands in the New Testament) See 2 Thessalonians 2:13, Galatians 6:8-9, Romans 8:13. For example: 1 Timothy 5:8 says if any man provides not for his own he has denied the faith and is worse than an infidel (unbeliever). Hebrews 12:14 says without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.
...
Baptism in water and receiving the Holy Ghost serve different purposes. And as all detailed conversion accounts confirm both are essential elements of the NT rebirth. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins." (Mark 1:1-5)

After Jesus resurrected He prophesied that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, and would begin in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47) The need to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sin was first preached in Jerusalem. (Acts 2:38) And later carried to the Samaritans and Gentiles just as Jesus said it would. Baptism in the name of Jesus is water baptism as confirmed by Peter in Acts 10:47-48.

Jesus said, "...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mark 16:15-16

Ananias' instruction to Paul revealed yet again that sins are remitted in obedience to water baptism: "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Acts 22:16

Paul's explanation as to what occurs when a person believes and obeys God's command to submit to water baptism:

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

FOR IF we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Rom 6:3-6

"Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." Col 2:11-12

According to 1 John 3:23, believing on the name of Jesus is a commandment.

1 John 3:23 says,
”And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.”

Also, we learn in John 1:12:

”But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12).

So are you saying that believing on the name of Jesus is a work?
Believing on the name of Jesus is how we can become a son of God and it is a command.

Note the parallel between John 1:12 and Acts 2:37-42. Everyone is given the opportunity to BECOME SONS of God:

”But as many as received him,
to them gave he power TO BECOME the sons of God,
even TO THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME:” (John 1:12)

Scripture confirms it was those who received the truth concerning Jesus that became sons of God AFTER obeying what they were told to do:

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you IN THE NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: AND THE SAME DAY there were added unto them about three thousand souls." (Acts 2:37-41)
more Commands that must be OBEYED!!

Is faith to believe and obey God or to just say I believe and never obey ?

Please understand. I believe water baptism is a necessity and one must strive to do so if they can. But like I said, according to Scripture it is simply non-salvific. If it was a part of salvation, then Paul would never say that he came not to baptize. In other words, if you believe Paul is saying baptism is a part of how we get initially saved, then Paul would be saying in 1 Corinthians 1:17 that he came not to administer salvation by water baptism and that it was not his job but the job of other believers to do so. But he never says that. The fact that Paul did point out how he did baptize but it was not many. Meaning, it was not that it was not his role to do so. He did baptize. It simply means that water baptism is not essential to salvation as others at that time thought it was. Meaning, Paul came to preach the gospel which saves (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), and not water baptism because it obviously did not save. Yes, water baptism is a requirement, but it simply does not save. In other words, if you were stranded in a dessert with others, you could not save anyone. This is a ridiculous notion that God cannot save unless there is some water around.

You said:
As to 1 Peter 3:21, the scripture reveals baptism is a salvation issue.

1 Peter 3:20-21
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
In what way does water baptism save us according to 1 Peter 3:21?

In 2 Corinthians 7:1 we learn that the words “filthiness of the flesh” is in reference to sin.
Let’s look at some context.

Part of 2 Corinthians 7:1 says,
“…let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

Most would argue that this phrase “filthiness of the flesh” is reference to sin.

Now, lets read 1 Peter 3:21.

1 Peter 3:21
”The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”

Notice the bolded words in 1 Peter 3:21? It says filth of the flesh. This is very similar phrase to what 2 Corinthians 7:1 says. So Peter is saying that baptism does not save us in putting away of the filth of the flesh (i.e., sin), but it saves us for the opportunity to give an answer in that we already have a clean and good conscience towards God which is made possible by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Meaning, by our believing the gospel message in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 in that Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and risen the third day is sufficient to cleanse our conscience because believing this gospel saves.

As for 1 Peter 3:20:

Eight souls were saved by water according to 1 Peter 3:20. But did the water literally save them? Meaning, were bad guys about to kill Noah and his family and the flood was what saved them from these bad guys? No. The water only saved in the sense that the wicked world was gone and could no longer influence or grieve Noah and his family with their sin. Just as when we first come to the Lord for salvation in seeking forgiveness of our sins with Him, our past conscience is cleansed or clean (washed away) like that old world was washed away. This is why 1 Peter 3:20 says that we are saved to give an answer to God in the fact that we already have a good and clean conscience before God. Again, this is only made possible by the fact that we believed the gospel message in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

The word “for” can be defined as “because” in the English dictionary.
It can also be read in such a way as saying, “Take two aspirin for your headache.“
This must be the interpretive viewpoint because otherwise we would have multiple contradictions in Scripture (Ephesians 2:8-9), (1 Corinthians 1:17), (1 Peter 3:21).

You said:

So do you understand that the word “arise” is a part of washing away your sins in Acts 22:16?
Do we have to arise? Surely not. We can actually climb down into a pool of water next to us if such were the case.
In other words, the part that says “wash away your sins” is tied to “calling on the name of the Lord“ in Acts 22:16. This makes sense because Romans 10:9, and Romans 10:13 also teach that calling upon the name of the Lord is what saves. There is no mention of water baptism that saves in Romans 10.

You said:
FOR IF we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

"Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." Col 2:11-12
Notice carefully the passage you quoted in Romans 6. It says if we have been planted in the LIKENESS of his death. The word likeness is in reference to how it is symbolic of such. So this burial (Colossians 2:11-12) or death in Christ by baptism is symbolic and or a picture of Christ’s death. What really helps us to be buried spiritually is being born again spiritually by the Spirit. This can happen even without water baptism. Being born again by water is in reference to the Word of God (Ephesians 5:25-27) (1 Peter 1:23) (1 Peter 2:2).

Does God change people or not?
So it seems like is the chicken first or the egg ? You have to first hear the word first and the more you hear the more you know and can obey ……

for instance I would wager every honest Christian couldn’t claim to obey everything in just this short section of scripture and many might not have ever even heard this section of scripture

This one page might keep a person busy a lifetime trying to perfect

“And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for your's is the kingdom of God. Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye. For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:20-49‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m not sure how totally obedient to the gospel anyone on earth is that’s just a page a sample of one sermon …..it’s a goal that’s set so high to keep us progressing our whole life we may never be perfect but that’s why he taught us “ forgive and you shall be forgiven don’t condemn and you won’t be condemned ect…

Its a matter of who we’re meant to obey and what he said it’s a lifetime long path drone babes to elderly

Please understand. I believe water baptism is a necessity and one must strive to do so if they can. But like I said, according to Scripture it is simply non-salvific. In other words, if you were stranded in a dessert with others, you could not save anyone. This is a ridiculous notion that God cannot save unless there is some water around.

Clearly we disagree.

Proper understanding of any topic in the word of God can only be acquired through acceptance of all scripture relevant to the topic. In addition, attention to scripture context is invaluable when engaged in the pursuit.

The baptism of John and the baptism in the name of Jesus were two different types of baptism (See: Acts 19:1-7).
Both are baptism in water. The only modification to John's baptism was the inclusion of the name of Jesus. Those who submit to the NT baptism do so in accordance with Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

If you'll notice the twelve individuals in the Acts 19 account were rebaptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus. We can know this to be true upon evaluation of the Acts 10 account. In Acts 10:47-48, Peter makes it clear that baptism in the name of the Lord is water baptism. Note as well that the group was baptized in the name of the Lord first, then afterward they received the Holy Ghost. As other scriptures reveal, water baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost are both necessary.

The baptism of John and the baptism in the name of Jesus were two different types of baptism (See: Acts 19:1-7)Again, I am not negating the necessity of baptism, but it is simply not done for salvation. In Acts 2:38, it says, “…Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

The word “for” can be defined as “because” in the English dictionary.
It can also be read in such a way as saying, “Take two aspirin for your headache.“
This must be the interpretive viewpoint because otherwise we would have multiple contradictions in Scripture (Ephesians 2:8-9), (1 Corinthians 1:17), (1 Peter 3:21)..
As I mentioned in a different post, all scriptures relevant to a topic such as water baptism must be taken as a whole in order to gain proper understanding. Refusing to accept scripture as written and confirmed elsewhere has the ability to blind individuals to the truth.

I believe Mark 16:15-16 is referring to Spirit baptism in this instance.
In Matthew 28, it is referring to water baptism.
While both Mark 16, and Matthew 28 appear to be similar, they are slightly different in details if you pay attention closely to them.
Both scriptures pertain to water baptism. This is known because God controls the giving of His Holy Spirit. Whereas man has the ability to choose whether to obey the command to be baptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus.

There is no mention of water baptism that saves in Romans 10..
To paraphrase Ananias' words: Paul what are you waiting for? Get up and obey the command; Be baptized in water in the name of Jesus and have your sins washed away.

Again, scripture reveals being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus pertains to water baptism.

Obedience to the water baptism command brings about the remission of one's sin. This reality is by God's design and is confirmed elsewhere in scripture. (Mark 1:1-5, Acts 2:38-41, Acts 10:43, 47-48, Acts 22:16)

Paul said in baptism we are in fact buried with Jesus. Being placed under the water is an image depicting a burial.

"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Rom 6:4-6

“For as the body without the spirit is dead,

so faith without works is dead also.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬
It is the Spirit of the Father and Son that doeth the work through us when the motivation for every thought and action is love for God first and everyone else as we love ourselves. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you get obsessed with doing the Father's will and spreading the understanding that God gives you through His Holy Spirit. You don't go out of your way to do the Father's will. Your way is the Father's will so that you don't really have to work for it. True saints will understand.

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:14-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:12-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:1-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Gods people , his children should be incredibly receptive to his word it was spoken by the Holy Spirit and written down by his chosen witnesses so we can still hear the same true words today and believe it

“knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s a reason these letters were being sent to the churches and circulated because you don’t say “I believe “ and then now you magically become a sinless robot that never faces temptation or never has to make effort now there’s no reason to accept Our gods word never faces trials and tribulations and traps in this world

To even receive the holy spirit we have to hear Jesus promise to give it …..

“When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”

You maintain good works when you exhibit the fruits of the Spirit described in Gal 5:22-26. All of these works are based on love for God first and love for everyone else as we love ourselves. My point was that having this love is a state of being and acting on this love comes naturally to those who have it. To those that don't have it, they have to work on it.
Gal 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.
Gal 5: 18 But if ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the Law.
Rom 7: 6 But now we are delivered from the Law, that being dead in which we were held, that we should serve in newness of Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
Gal 5: 5-6 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision , but faith which worketh by Love.
Rom 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath;
for where no law is, there is no transgression.
