Why do you insist on making a fool of yourself? Do you know how a compass works? "North" is meaningless in FE. And how come the FE map is simply a flattened globe map? Oh, that's right. No FE individual has ever set about to produce a true FE map. That is because there is no such thing.

Sure, where the buildings are. The earth is 40,000 km diameter. The rate of curve is 200mm per 1.6 km or thereabouts. Foundations are also leveled prior to construction. Is that too complicated for you?

The diagram showed you, if you had bothered to look. North is central in Flat Earth. (Ignore the text - it's nonsense - probably written by a Heliocentrist).

Do you realize that what you are saying sounds like opinion and furthermore, comes across anecdotally?
Yes. It's called responding in kind. Proverbs tells us we can't really win when arguing with a fool. I'm at least preventing him the pleasure of being justified in his own eyes. :p

I guess FE people could be left in charge of torpedoes, if the captain is fine with a guy who denies that the nautical mile is based on the Earth's longitude and latitude coordinates, with one nautical mile equaling one minute of latitude.
There are claims that many ships were wrecked in the Southern Hemisphere because of an incorrect understanding of the nautical mile.

Look I get it that my pizza argument is lost on anyone but true pizza connoisseurs. But I refuse to give up until everyone is sucked into my cockamamie beliefs!

Planets are pizzas!
Just so long as you don't put fruit on your pizza. If you do, then there will be a real argument!

Maybe, but the reason could be that those ships were sailing in high latitude regions.

Here’s a guide to what I’m talking about.

Why does the "pull" of the moon affect the huge amounts of water so massively while having no effect whatsoever on the smaller amounts of water?[
.../QUOTE]

I am aware the moon tidal model does not work as expected on all large bodies of water everywhere in the world. And I know your post was talking about the lack of effects on a glass of water, etc. I don't hang a hat on SE (sphere Earth) because of tides, so I'm really changing the focus going forward in this post.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I bet you're like me that we know scientific knowledge changes with new information. We go with "Certainty"... we have time limitations and priorities, so we accept past knowledge but we're open to new information. The problem is when we give that up and make a science issue a matter of faith. Where no new information can change our mind. I'm sure you agree we mustn't do that, right?

The earth is either spherical or flat (basically). What if the earth is a sphere? The gnosticism comes in with the FAITH that Satan is trying to make us feel insignificant by creating the spherical model and a deceptive group of people are trying to maintain that deception for the same reason. That is where the ever-changing scientific certainty model we had changes to a gnostic sect of immovable faith, where we aren't open to contrary new information.

I remember many years ago when one night I dove into the flat earth model. It was such a beautiful model. I loved it. The concept was working in so many applications. I loved it so much I had to think of one way to demonstrate to myself it was most likely incorrect before I went to bed.

I had a had a globe right next to me, and the internet. The FE model puts the southern tip of South America on the other side of the "plate" from the SE tip of Australia. I took a string and calculated the global distance between Santiago, Chile and Sydney, Australia, calculated the time it would take to fly in both models, and then saw if I could book a nonstop flight and what the flight time would be (ie, distance). I went to bed comfortably.

Last I looked, Quantas does have nonstop Sydney to Johannesburg S Africa, goes past Antartica. (Santiago to Sydney is the better flight comparison if an airlines does that again.) Grab your FE model, scale it, and compare it to globe. What does the flight time tell you is the correct model?

Here's a standard FE map. We can agree Santiago to Sydney is more than twice as far away as Santiago to Los Angeles, yes? With the links (below the map) you can - literally right now - book a flight nonstop from Santiago to Sydney 12hrs-30mins; Santiago to Los Angeles nonstop is 11hrs-15mins. You know why, right? Verify it for yourself. The links to these specific flights will likely expire, but you can update the flights.

SYD to SCL, 3/27 (kayak.com)
SCL to LAX flights (expedia.com)

If you were telling your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ the earth is flat and it's not, especially considering the FE faith-sect that's emerged, would you really be ok with doing that? My RECOMMENDATION to you is you don't lead others to Flat Earth Faith until you've proven it to yourself literally.

You CAN book that flight and make the required measurements, time elapsed, wind speed, distance, viewing Antartica out the window... whatever YOUR requirements are to believe it's accurate.

Here's one last one for you. If you look at the moon from the far north the moon is "upside right" and from the far southern hemisphere "upside down". You can get these moon observations from a source YOU trust. FE the moon observations are the same; spherical earth it's flipped. Answer: it's flipped.
