A Christian must judge himself but must not judge others.
1 Corinthians 11:31
“For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”

“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?” (This speaks of the future.)
Matthew 7:1
“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” (This is for us here today.)

Paul knew where he was headed:
”6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

You are speaking to the issue of final judgment. I was speaking to the issue of temporal judgment. That you don't understand the difference or that both exist is the reason why you don't understand why your question is confusing.
Pretty sure you are thinking of the Bema Seat Judgement. That only has to do with the works of Christians. We have been focusing on the total loss of one's soul in the Lake of Fire. @Cameron143 and his verse are referring to the GWT judgement.

That is the Bema Seat Judgement.
In and of ourselves, we are not worthy of salvation from hell to Heaven: That is why the Righteous One, Jesus died on our behalf for our sins. Once a person rejects their self righteousness and make Christ the Object of complete faith, then they are saved. See link below.
