Who cares if I object?
Once again I will warn everyone, the only thing you need to fear is the judgement when you are on trial before God. At that time every account will be settled. So if you judged others you will be judged with the same judgement with which you judged. People don't understand that verse, they think "I'm not a murderer so I don't care". That isn't the judgement. You decided you could judge him without hearing from him or giving him a chance to defend himself. So you too will be slandered with no chance to defend yourself. Perhaps the slander is true, perhaps it is twisted, perhaps it is just a lie, but it will be the same judgement with which you judged others.
The golden rule to do unto others means we are to treat others with mercy as we also would like mercy. Yes, people commit crimes, but in many cases there are extenuating circumstances which may not exonerate them but still mitigate the punishment. I would like an opportunity to share any mitigating circumstances to a sympathetic judge, therefore that is the way I treat others.
