1 Corinthians 7:9: "But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.". Interesting, Paul did not call for them to repent, he called for them to get married.

I agree, Paul did not throw them out of the church, he only called on them to get married. The church's message on sex outside of marriage should be....GET MARRIED. Instead they scream it's a sin and you need to repent. It doesn't solve the problem of fornication. The way to repent is to get married.

The problem is when the offending parties will not get married, but choose to live "in sin", or commit serial fornication with one partner after another. The church needs to show such folks the door.

Having sex outside of marriage is sinful, so repentance is needed, but this is one sin where there are two paths of resolution available: stop and repent, or marry and repent.
