I think a heart of a librarian is very different from a teachers heart, which teachers dont always understand.

For example, in ministry, a teacher might have no problem showing tv ministry videos to class, but a librarian would encourage students to read the Bible for themselves. I think teachers often expect librarians to teach rather than be librarians.

I find that unbelievers who dont want to come to the light prefer the dark and they react like vampires when you open the curtain or switch on the light, or they run away. There are some people that you just cant share a meal with I suppose. When Jesus was eating and drinking with sinners, it was the sinners who were drawn to him, not Jesus sinning with them.

When Jesus was crucified between two thieves, one was repentant and the other wasnt.

Reading the scriptures is always an express medium to hear from God . Even Jesus studied scripture and quoted a couple . videos ,parables are for children . sons will have meat .

I guess the only thing we could do about being unequally yoke, is take every relationship to the Lord in prayer. I believe it is something to do with having the same beliefs system and our desire and will to serve the Lord must be equal. So basically you both put the same importance in prayer , reading the Bible, meditating and drawing closer to Yahweh our creator and savior Jesus/Yeshua.

Was there anyone equal to Jesus?

Its interesting that John the baptist introduced people to Jesus but said he wasnt worthy to unlatch his sandal...and then Peter at first didnt allow Jesus to wash his feet.

Then there was Mary who washed Jesus feet with her hair (does anyone here do that? )

Maybe when we are all sitting down at a picnic we are equal. Also, round tables are round for a reason, nobody is at the head.

The world is often talking about equality these days, esp gender equality, and equal opportunity employers, but in reality women are generally paid less for the same jobs that men do.

In churches there are often heirarchies, esp between different age groups, genders, and even races/languages, not to mention those who are paid staff (clergy) and those who arent (laymen), btween those who are poor and unemployed and those who have trustfunds and never have to work a day in their life.

I first heard about such a thing called 'high church' in England.
I had no idea what a 'high church' was and whether there were 'low churches' as well, but it seemed to me churches in England are segregated by class.

The poor were not welcome at high churches, thats why the Salvation Army was created.
High church had all the bells and whistles and ordinary common people couldnt afford to go to them

What kind of off-brand hippies do y'all have? Our hippies generally wear comfortable shoes - loafers or some such.

its always seems to be taken out of context, its not referring to relationships but fellowship.
Some relationship you cannot avoid, esp if you became a christian AFTER your got married and your spouse didnt.

Recently I was dating a woman who I met at a Christian function who was a new Christian. I am a bit more mature in my faith and as time went on it became apparent that she was just not quite on the same path that I was on. I thought in the beginning that I could come alongside her and help her grow spiritually, but it did not turn out that way.
After that experience I realized I needed to be more discerning about dating and any potential partner should be rooted and grounded in her Christian faith because that is the basis of my life and if we are to grow together it will have to be the basis of hers as well.

maybe looking at yoking in the wrong way..rather than thinking we are being the beasts of burden its more getting on the same bus or bandwagon or vehicle going somewhere?

I dont know if other married couples share one car and both take turns driving, but I know that my mum never drove after she had children, dad always took the wheel. If he was going somewhere she didnt want to go, or going to work, she stayed at home. When she did go to work, he would drop her off, and he also did the school run. We could have taken the bus, but public transport is dire where we live. We also could have walked, but we lived in suburbs where people dont seem to have legs or use them much to get around.
