In my country there was a survey couple years ago stated that over than 70 % the teenagers lost their virginity. I was really shock because their age when losing the virginity between 13 -15 .

does virginity is not that important now ?

I can't speak for Indonesia or any other country. It seems, however, here in the United States that it is culturally uncool to have abstained from sex past the age of 15(earlier in other regions). I guess coolness is venereal. (hence, movies like The 40 Year Old Virgin)
 
Yeah, now a days, sex is just as normal as brushing your teeth.

If you havent had sex by the time your 16/17, its considered odd. Values and Morals in todays society have totally gone down.

As these sins (pre-marital sex etc) increase, so to does the worlds lack of faith.

We are nearing the end of days, and what is wrong will be right, and right will be wrong.
 
Imo the reason there is so much divorce now in America, is because of pre-marital sex and porn.
 
Well, I don't think that the percentage is quite 70% in the US, but I'm sorry to say that morals are still not a top priority for much of the population. Often, we become preoccupied with self and instant gratification. However, I know that there are still many people devoted to sexual purity. A lot of teens have started wearing purity rings to signify their counter-cultural beliefs and others profess similar beliefs in their own unique way. I personally wear a purity ring. For me, it serves as a symbol of my promise to do nothing past a simple kiss on the lips until I'm married, and I'm confident that my future husband is spending his single years similarly :)
 
also i find that because sex outside of marriage is so common the pressure to lose your virginity is immense. i dont want to until i am married and my Lord tells me not to so i dont
 
Growing up I placed no real value on virginity, I myself did not find virginity the importent part of sexuality. I placed more importance on the relationship with a partner and whether or not I was emotionally ready to have a sex. Other then that, I find virginity to be a fact of life, either you are or are not you do not look different in the mirror when you loose it. But I do understand why someone from a religious point of view would be for waiting.
 
What is the preoccupation with the "Gospel of abstinence" in churchdom? Why not spend the same time and energy on how to have a deeper relationship with God and how to live in our divine inheritance of power and authority? I'm sure it would have a have a positive flow on effect leading to right life choices. At least more so than going back to preaching law again.
 
Teenage or premarital sex is no new thing. It has been big generation after generation. Teens had just as much sex in the 50's as they do now. Hormones have not changed.

All you can do is know your own values and the values you want in a future partner.
 
For me it means saving myself for my wife. I don't know if ive met her yet or who she will be. But i know i love her very much and she is definately worth waiting for.
 
I think, there is a time for everything.

I've heard bout tht rumor also (survey result for virginity). N all i think about, just stand firm on wht I believe now, n let nothing moves me.
 
I lost my virginity a year ago, when I was 18, and didn't do it out of pressure, but out of love. However, at the time I didn't realize how precious virginity really is. I think because today's society portrays sex as something so ordinary, virginity has lost alot of meaning for many people. However I am happy to say that I made a promise with God and myself to wait until marriage to do it again. :)
 
That's a really big question. I see it as a gift I can only give once and the person I give it to is going to be the person im going to spend the rest of my life with. I encourage all of you waiting to keep waiting. What is a better gift to give one's spouse than one's virginity?

Hm. Maybe a God-centered life that dosen't competely revolve around sex? Being a good spouse in terms of the latter part in life? Staying faithful til death do us part?

I dunno. God is authur of our lives. Can't say what he'll write next.

But yeah, I agree. It's just plain nice to give what you've saved all your life, to the one you've proclaimed to love.
 
America was lost its morals.... i that virginity is very important it is one of the best things you can give to your spouse. i used to thin sex was a bad thing but its not its the way the world says it is like on tv and stuff you know?
 
@Kooper I agree with you that one should be a good spouse by staying faithful and such but marriage is sealed by sex. The covenant of marriage is finalized with the union of the two bodies. If the first thing you do for you spouse in your marriage is give what you have treasured most, giving your love to them in comparison shouldn't be as difficult. Marriage shouldnt be all about sex but sex is a part of marriage because the physical desire one shares for their spouse should be a part of what keeps the two faithful to each other along with other characteristics in the relationship.

Anyway, fortunately for us the percentage of young people waiting to have sex has increased in recent years. Now that doesn't mean they are waiting until marriage (most are waiting until they're in college). But it's a start and it also means the ones that get married when they're 18 are less likely to have had sex before.
 
It is very important. Before Jesus died for our sins, God would punish His people (the Israelites) physically. if an Israelite committed fornication (sex before marriage), he or she would be stoned to death so fornication was not a very big problem for the Israelites. They knew that God took it very seriously. He also looks at pornography just as seriously, because it can have the same effects. If God thinks that it's serious, then I think that it's serious.
