1 John 3:17 "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" I have seen this happen many times in church. Someone has a desperate need and Christians say things like "GOD want you to know you have to depend on him" or "GOD is just testing you to see if you will trust him" The Christian will not lift a finger to help the person. They are all words and no actions.
The Bible says having food and clothing be content.
God does not bless a saint with their wants, but only their needs because He loves people.
The early Church sold all they had that was not a necessity and the disciples distributed the money to those that had need.
Paul said he did not covet anybody's gold or silver but only ministered unto his needs.
God said those that are rich should distribute their money to the poor.
A lot of people claiming Christianity do not want to help people because they want to enjoy themselves like the world in the money and material department which they love to hear the prosperity Gospel.
But God said some people believe godliness in gain from such withdraw yourselves.
Out of faith, hope, and charity, love in action, charity is the greatest.
Charity is greater than faith, and faith works by love.
Paul said if he did not have charity he is nothing.
And if a person does not have charity they have erred from the faith.
James said if they do not have charity then their faith is dead.
John said if they do not have charity then the love of God does not dwell in them.
So do not love in word, nor in tongue, but in deeds, works, and in truth.
