Americans Amass Record $1 Trillion in Credit Card Debt

https://www.theepochtimes.com/artic...J7j9NxqLL0a2lWj9t6ip66VVyU3WxT5d8kCF33cMq7Q8=

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis reported Friday that Americans now owe $1 trillion in credit card debt, a historic and troubling record.

The number comes as some credit card interest rates have hit their highest level in 40 years.

A recent WalletHub study found that the average interest rates for new offers—which are often offered at a discount compared to the standard rate—is 22.39 percent, a sharp increase from 18.89 percent one year ago. Previous years held similar averages, with 17.06 percent in 2010. The research group attributes the increase to recent Federal Reserve hikes.

We had two huge economic stories today. First Russia's ruble is collapsing and their central bank had to raise interest rates significantly to 12%. The other story was that Fitch is ready to downgrade the banking sector in the US. Although I did not refer to any specific story it seems that the economic situation in China is worse than either of these two countries. There is also concern that the situation in Europe with energy and heat for the winter is going to be catastrophic.

By themselves, any one of these stories would be bad but not that bad considering we have a world's economy. But when all four are happening at the same time, these are the four major economies in the world.

US Homeless Population Balloons as Biden Seeks Millions to House Illegal Migrants

According to new data published by the Wall Street Journal, over 577,000 Americans are homeless today, representing an 11 percent increase compared to 2022.

The increase “would represent by far the biggest recorded increase since the government started tracking comparable numbers in 2007,” the Journal notes/

“The next highest increase was a 2.7% jump in 2019, excluding an artificially high increase last year caused by pandemic counting interruptions,” the outlet adds.

why? The Lord is Coming soon!
I agree... and that is something to be glad about!

I don't mean to offend, but I don't like that so many Christians are using an eisegetic approach to reading into Scripture things that they pull from the "news".

Do you mean exegetic?

I think you have to be balanced, both exegesis and hermeneutics.

For example, some may think that "no one knows the day or hour" is a key principle in eschatology. OK, but what is the principle? If you take that to mean no point in watching, well that is easily debunked using exegesis. If on the other hand you take that to mean that we must therefore watch all the more carefully, well that is easily confirmed using exegesis.

No one knows the day and hour that a baby will be born. Therefore we have to watch for the signs.

No one knows the day and hour that you should harvest your crops. Therefore the farmer has to watch for the signs.

No one knows the day and hour that a thief will rob your business. Therefore we need a night watchman.

Okay... that's your opinion. But I did mean eisegesis.
And what you have said doesn't really address the idea of looking at the "news" and extrapolating "End-Time" events.
Have you ever read about "Chicken Little"? A lot of people read current events and automatic try to tie them into Scripture.
That is eisegesis, plain and simple.

I have been watching for the Lord's return and signs of the Lord's return since 1979. At that time we talked about Israel becoming a nation and Prince Charles. But for the most part, nothing else.

I missed the whole 88 reasons for 1988 and I missed some other guy who had the radio show and was putting up billboards. I was fully in the word, I was a missionary, but I didn't see anything in the news that was particularly alarming.

I remember not liking Revelation, not because it isn't an amazing and captivating book, but because how can you understand this? I had been in West Texas, Norfolk England, Taiwan, Mexico, rural New Hampshire. How can you control everyone in the world being able to buy or sell? No clue. I remember we tried to explain it as it is only talking about Europe.

Many of the prophecies seemed fantastical, impossible to even fathom. For example, Joel says that before the day of the Lord God will declare a worldwide sabbath rest, an opportunity for people to fast and pray. I read that, I saw it, but I could not fathom how that could be fulfilled until 2020 with the worldwide shutdown.

I watched Tim Cohen show 23 reasons from the Bible why he thinks King Charles is the Antichrist. It stunned me how precisely King Charles heraldic achievement is described in Revelation. All of a sudden I had an angle on Revelation I never had. It is not hard to see how we could have the mark of the beast anymore.

Also, all these youtube channels talking about the soon return of the Lord and all the prophetic signs, you didn't see anything like that ten years ago. Sure, for all of Church history we have had those people who see a comet or some other event and want to say the Lord is coming. But only in the last 75 years did we have the Jews in Israel. Only in the last 55 years have we had the Jews in Jerusalem. Only this year do we have 4 red heifers that will be ready to be sacrificed in a few months.

It's great that you're being watchful... that's commendable!

Still, I don't believe that every unhappy incident in the "news" is pointing to the "end-times"... not even international ones.
And Darby's silly teachings seem to drive some into obsession... IMHO.

This Country is About To Do the Unthinkable (And the Shocking Reason Why)

China -- covering up the situation in their real estate market and they are not revealing how much foreign exchange they are holding. Home prices dropping at a faster rate. China's economy is rapidly contracting. Country Garden can't pay their bonds. Country Garden used to be the biggest real estate developer in China, bigger than Evergrande. If both of these go bankrupt it brings down the entire market. The US is looking to curtail investments in China and many other multinational corporations have already pulled out of the Chinese market. China is cutting their funds rate, another scary sign. There are a couple of large banks that have also missed their payments.

Have you ever seen a bonfire?

I remember when we would have bonfires, the fire was built and ready to go for the whole day. They don't build it and start it immediately. The day before they build the fire, they mow the grass for a big circle around the fire, they place buckets of water along the perimeter of the mowed section. This is what we are seeing with the US dollar, everything is built and ready, awaiting someone to come with a torch and light it.

BRICS is going to be a gold token. Think of Chucky Cheese, you go in their and you buy tokens with your dollars and only with the tokens can you play the various games. So what you will see is countries selling US bonds to buy gold. We had a record sales of US bonds in July. Yellen is having make believe auctions where the FED is supplying the money and some of our allies are pretending to bid for and buy the bonds using FED money.

Here is the problem with that, the countries that are selling the bonds are not fooled and now you have just let your best allies realize the dollar is phony as well.

Around the 44-45 minute mark he says he thinks the US has already defaulted on our debt!

He thinks this is why there is no debt ceiling. If Yellen is pretending to sell US treasuries by using Fed dollars that would indicate a default. It suggests the only way to sell our bonds is to greatly increase the interest rate. Imagine if the US had to increase their interest rate by 4% like Russia just did! It would be catastrophic. Housing market, car market, credit cards, bank deposits! You would see a total collapse of our banking industry, a huge number of bankruptcies.

If you want an analogy the US economy is sitting on the edge of a steep hill, a landslide has already taken place so that there is nothing under half of our building, which is teetering on the edge about to slide down the hill. You should have everyone evacuating the building and the police condemning it. But in this case saying this out loud would cause a stampede. Instead there is an orderly and quiet evacuation by national central banks.

A better analogy would be the Titanic. After hitting the iceberg the ship was a goner, simply a matter of time. However, it did not start to list for awhile and during that time you can put the rich into lifeboats. Meanwhile you lock the poor down below. The poor are the first to realize the ship is sinking because water is rushing into their cabins. But they can't get to the lifeboats.
