I think God is in all of us from the moment we're born, but as we get older he's stifled by the polluting influence of the world.
I'm lucky in that respect because I've always had a rebellious anti-world nature, so he was never stifled in me..

"Do not love the world or the things in it, otherwise the love of God is not in you" (1 John 2:15-17)
"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" (Col 3:2)
"A friend of the world is the enemy of God" (James 4:4)
"You were dead when you followed the ways of the world" (Eph 2:1/2)
"You died with Christ from this world, so don't keep submitting to its rules" (Col 2:20)
"For we look at things unseen rather than the seen, for the seen are temporary, but the unseen are eternal" (2 Cor 4:18)

I'm just an ordinary bloke who likes mixing with other Christians so that our mutual spiritual strength will rub off on each other..

Are the Gospels missing from your bible, spend some time with Jesus instead of Paul talking about Jesus, your perserverance is a blessing God bless you.
Thanks and incidentally when I was filling in my profile this seemed to be the nearest compulsory description for me- "small group leader" , but I want to make it clear I'm not a leader at all, I'm just a member of a group and we have no leader except Jesus..

First of all, your user name caught my attention along with the location = i laughed & when i opened thread, you had one of my favourites, Iron Sharpens! It does! Literally taken aback by some of the self inflating posts in here and the instant questioning of you! I couldn't give an accurate profile description either btw. I don't fit in any man made box or description, only God's. One label applies to me, Christian. -

First of all, your user name caught my attention along with the location = i laughed & when i opened thread, you had one of my favourites, Iron Sharpens! It does! Literally taken aback by some of the self inflating posts in here and the instant questioning of you! I couldn't give an accurate profile description either btw. Btw, and this is not a criticism of anybody, the iron sharpens iron verse is found in Proverbs 27:17. The opening post says Proverbs 7:17, and I am sure that was just a typo. I am only mentioning this in case anybody reading this thread tries to find that verse of scripture.
