What is Paul declaring as the source of your salvation? Can you be saved without loving God?
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

OK so to believe on the Lord Jesus does it mean your accepting Jesus for what He did for us out of love, or something else? Also, is Jesus always considered to be 'God', ergo was it God who died on the Cross for our sins? Thx.You do not start out by loving God but believing on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:30,31).
Love for God follows.
Ok, so does love play a part in accepting Jesus as Lord? Also, 'if we believe in our heart God raised Him from the dead' then the person has a knowledge of who God is already? Thx.What is Paul declaring as the source of your salvation?

The consciousness of "what He did for us out of love" may not be at the forefront. What would be at the forefront is that Christ -- GOD in human form -- died for my personal sins and guilt, and shed His blood for the forgiveness of my sins and the cleansing of my soul. Then He rose again for my justification. That I would receive the gift of eternal life.OK so to believe on the Lord Jesus does it mean your accepting Jesus for what He did for us out of love, or something else? Probably the fear of the Lord is the leading factor as it is the beginning of wisdom. The consciousness of "what He did for us out of love" may not be at the forefront. The fear of Hell should drive sinners to Christ. The Bible says "God is angry with sinners every day" and "God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent". Is the reality of Hell being preached?Probably the fear of the Lord is the leading factor as it is the beginning of wisdom.
The Bible doesn't teach us to fear Hell. It teaches us to fear the One who can send us there. The fear of Hell should drive sinners to Christ. The Bible says "God is angry with sinners every day" and "God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent". Is the reality of Hell being preached?
Once again you are mistaken. Study Mark 9 carefully. What you said is partially true. And partial truths are very dangerous. The Bible doesn't teach us to fear Hell. It teaches us to fear the One who can send us there.
Matthew 10:28 says exactly what I said. Your reference speaks of the terrible conditions in Hell, but no mention is made of fear.Once again you are mistaken. Study Mark 9 carefully. What you said is partially true. And partial truths are very dangerous.
To fear the One Who can destroy both body and soul there. The Bible doesn't teach us to fear Hell. It teaches us to fear the One who can send us there.
The order that it occurs in the New Testament is as follows.Ok, so does love play a part in accepting Jesus as Lord? Also, 'if we believe in our heart God raised Him from the dead' then the person has a knowledge of who God is already? Thx.
HAHAHAHAHAMatthew 10:28 says exactly what I said. Your reference speaks of the terrible conditions in Hell, but no mention is made of fear.
And yet He actually said fear the One who can destroy your soul in hell. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of hell, if it doesn't lead to the fear of God and repentance does nothing. We are nowhere told to fear hell. In fact, I have absolutely no fear of hell.HAHAHAHAHAI never expected such a silly response. Jesus said that you should be willing to lose a limb because Hell is so fearful. "But no mention is made of fear". Really silly.
Yes, we do have 2000 years of scripture available to the masses. We don't have 2000 years of people being able and/or allowed to read the scripture.
We only have a few hundred of that, and less still for people to culturally believe in their own personal sovereignty to decide what it means.
