You are the one who likened God's behavior as tyrannical and unseemly. Those are your depictions of God, not mine.
My argument is that God's choices are best. Don't assign to me the emanations of your heart.
Just to set the record straight:

"The primordial lie of Satan: that God is a tyrant who disallows free will and choice.

And the other lie that the Holy Spirit rapes young ladies."

What is that serpentine hissing that I hear?

No one here beside yourself said God forced His will on her. That was the product of your imagination.
The_Watchers_2017 has admitted that Magenta was correct. Perhaps you may as well.
Two lies in a row. Yes, I am keeping track.

You are conflating 2 different things. The premise set forth was that Mary was not asked but told. That is demonstrably true.

The second idea is whether that constitutes an eclipsing of Mary's freewill. The answer is no.

One doesn't necessitate the other.

You should read post #815. The question never was if Mary was forced, but, rather, was she asked or told. No one here beside yourself said God forced His will on her. That was the product of your imagination.

So you are the boss of what questions get asked and answered around here?

Sounds suspiciously like a denial of somebody's free will to me.

Tell that to the nation Israel at Sinai.

Regarding free will, I wonder what would have happened if Mary had said to the angel- "I don't want no baby, find somebody else to have it" ..;)

There you go again. Implying into arguments things that aren't there. Everyone is free to ask and answer anything.
Honestly, I've had more coherent conversations with 2 year olds. I don't mean to denigrate you, but you cannot stay on point and discuss ideas without hurling insults and innuendo.
But my apologies. I already knew that and engaged anyway.

Usually death, i would think.
But people make that choice every day anywhere in the world right now.
God can tell people to do something but they simply reject it and defy God even when faced with death. This is a free willed choice.
Happens every moment of our existence.
If God wanted to create robots then we'd be in the Garden with Him right now, but he wants free-willed creatures not robots.

OK. I get it. Its obvious now. You are confusing Holy God with Vito Corleone.

Interestingly, some prophets tried to talk their way out of the job when they first got the call from God, for example Moses admitted to being unable to think on his feet-
"O Lord, I have never been eloquent, I am slow of speech and tongue...Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” (Exodus 4:10-13)

And Jonah was so scared he refused pointblank to be a prophet and jumped on a ship to escape, bad call -
"Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish." (Jonah 1:3)

And young Jeremiah tried to talk his way out -
"
Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” (Jer 1:6)

And even Jesus's human half briefly faltered in Gethsemane-
"Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done" (Matt 26:42)

i assume this is where this conversation started about Rape.

Your Quote, is this how You were taught, or when You read it see this was what took place?

You are Correct, She, Mary, was not asked for Permission. She was given a Message, and then Responded to it. and WE ALL are Grateful for her Submission to Our God!
Quite frankly your question makes no sense because there is absolutely nothing in Scripture to suggest that Mary was asked permission, period. In fact what we are told is that Mary was informed that she was going to bear the Christ child... And it strikes me as quite odd that people are protesting against this and giving all sorts of ridiculous reasons why not to agree with what Sccripture explicitly states.

The way I see it, difference between you and I is that you are seeking "dialogue" (just like the Pope), and I am seeking truth.

And I found Him!

Thank you for helping me stay I formed of what is transpiring in this thread, as I am currently quite preoccupied with all the red tape involved in buying a new (used) car... I am at the dealership right now and am awaiting the appointment that will finalize the deal (I have already paid for it). Major ugh!!! My car made some horrible noises and was not responding properly on my drive home last night... to the point where I was afraid to drive it today!

i think of Mary like with a Boss:

Your Boss calls you into the Office.
Closes the Door.
orders You to sit down.
begins talking about Issues.
things you have some idea about but not your general area of concern.
then says, i need you to fix this.
you will become Lead over these 4 departments.
you start tomorrow.
Do You want the Job?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sssssssssssssssurrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Except for the fact that Mary wasn't asked.... period.

Maybe if you will write down as closely as possible what the sounds are an online mechanic can tell you what's wrong. Seriously though how blessed you are to have the resources to get another one. I would have to cut a hole in the floorboard and shout yabba dabba doo.

So God "made her an offer she couldnt refuse"?

I think not. Because God changes not. And God is perfectly predictable in His dealings. And God's PATTERN from Genesis to Revelation indicates that free will to choose Him is utterly sacrosanct and inviolable.

I dont agree, but you have your view I have mine.

as for the original texts they translate as foundation.

And also translate as the earth being consumed by the foundations. Not the other way round.

But since you don't want to see that then I would suggest read pages 10 to 20. Because I'm not going over it again.
I offered a few points of content. Can you be more specific? You "don't agree" with what, exactly?

All I have is what Genesis 1, 2, and 3 say...
The Genesis account is not all you have. The rest of the Bible gives details about the nature of the beginning of everything. I gave you some references from Romans, 1 Corinthians, and 1 Timothy about Adam.

reading and understanding those chapters leads to that supposition
How? How does the text of the Bible lead to that supposition? What verse?

The scriptures you quote do not say there were no other people
The Scriptures also don't say there were purple gorillas living on Mars 6000 years ago...that does not mean we have a good reason to suggest they existed. Your point here is irrelevant.

The scriptures you quote... say that everyone living is of his lineage
Not just everyone living...
"From him, all people were made". "Adam's sin brought death to "all people".

Everyone human who has ever died is a descendant of Adam (1 Cor 15:22).

It was a kind of grinding/rubbing noise and the car would not accelerate properly, making the awful noises at those times, and acting otherwise like I was driving in first or second gear when I was in normal drive mode (transmission?)... it sounded off as soon as I started it yesterday morning, and yabba dabba doo! My boss gave me the day off and God is so good that yes, I could afford to buy a new car at the inflated prices they are at along with everything else these days! I had never bought from a dealership before but it was a great experience; my special agent even went out and bought me breakfast because I had to wait a while for everything to be finalized after the test drive, and he will be coming by hopefully later today to switch out my plates and take the old car away. Sayonara, 2006 Toyota Echo, with over 230,000 kms, and say hello to my new 2009 Toyota Yaris with only 106,000kms .:D. When my daughter gets home later today she will wonder whose car is in the driveway .:giggle:
