i just read Deuteronomy recently, and had the same thoughts about those verses....

We tend to fall victim to the thought process that only one thing can be right.

The Deuteronomy passage is certainly applicable. However BOTH applications can, and in my view WILL be right.

There WILL be some form of physical mark. I’m not sure how Christians can doubt this with how fast we are headed in the direction of not being able to buy or sell without a mark.

Right now, the mark is on many people’s phones. Not the MOTB, but a QR mark nonetheless. They will make this global. And the AC will make some form of it mandatory on your hand or forehead.

No, that might have been before my time.
I think some have an idea that the world is normal and never changing, then poof!! the antichrist and beast are on the scene forcing the population to take the mark.
I've never believed that theory since I trusted Christ as my Savior. It only makes sense that there will be a progressive world system that will eventually lead up to that period before Christ's wrath is poured out upon the world.
I want to distinguish myself from the world and beast system as I learn of them.
