Romans 12:2
There exists hardwired within all of us a desire to have a spouse and children...to have our own family. To try and do better than our parents in raising the kids.
It never really works out that way but the desire is there. Where for some the initial idea might be daunting and a little scary...most warm right up to the role.
Not to say that other things can't supercede those desires...which is what Paul was talking about in 1Corinthians. Because time was short until the end of an "era". Also the Roman persecution of Christians was about to begin and last for ten years while Rome basically hunted them.
We don't have those things going on today.
Which is why marriage and children are perfectly fine today.
However, I do see elements of the "Mouse Utopia" experiment being mirrored in today's society.
And it's somewhat disturbing that people are acting like animals.
Where we aren't exactly supposed to be showy and demonstrative with our faith for the viewing by others to gain esteem....we are to practice it together. And a spouse to pray with is so especially sweet. Children are like a hunter's arrows and blessed is he whose quiver is full.
I personally don't recommend going out intentionally spouse shopping or hunting. But there is nothing wrong with intentionally making a huge friend network.
