When Jesus Christ appears at the last trump, two distinct events take place. The first is that we are ALL changed from flesh bodies to spiritual bodies, or from corruptible flesh to incorruptible spirit, and it applies to everyone. Additionally, the second event is known as the First Resurrection to immortality. The saints who are now in their spiritual bodies are resurrected to the status of IMMORTALITY.
Much confusion in the minds of Christians would be cleared up if people took the time to understand the distinction between the resurrection of the body and the resurrection of the soul to immortality.

Hello, I have been thinking about the OP and the different posts, but have not received any revelation on what Jesus was talking about to Nicodemus. But I'm glad to have an understanding of these views on this thread and more on other site forums.

Because personaly I believe that is when you reçieve salvation.
And being saved is distinct from this.
This is why I'm hesitant to boast in my infirmities.

There is no "resurrection" of the soul. That term applies strictly to bodies. See 1 Cor 15. So you are adding to the confusion. Souls and spirits are joined to resurrected bodies.
You CAN know if you have eternal life.

As a matter of fact I have gone "a little deeper" and that is why I am showing you your error. Take it or leave it.
You will not find me taking Scriptures out of context to make a point. I told you that the first resurrection is in three phases and you turned around and reposted phase three, instead of seriously giving some further study to the three phases. Why is the First Resurrection mentioned in Revelation 20? Because later on the Second Resurrection will also be mentioned in that chapter. The First Resurrection is for the just, and the Second for the unjust.
Eternal life is not in the physical realm. It is spirit. The spirit never dies.
True. The soul and spirit are imperishable, although some hate that truth. But the resurrection brings eternal life to the physical realm. The TRANSFORMED physical realm. Paul had a lot to say about the resurrection of the saints. Indeed Job had a lot to say about it.
Not at all. We need to know that we are justified. We need to believe God. Satan still tries to trick people as he did in Eden. The conditions to be justified are clearly laid out in God's word. If we take God at His word, we are safe and secure in His faithfulness. If we are trying to justify ourselves, as often happened in NT times, we are still in our sins. Our righteousness is still filthy rags to God. Those who imagine that obeying all the commandments (we cannot) make them acceptable to God are deluded. There are still some who insist that sabbath observance and food laws are essential, even though God's word is clear on these issues. People who trust in anything other than the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary, and His resurrection from the dead, are dead in their sins still.
I'm 72. I'll be delighted to trade my present body for a brand new one that never gets old.
