So I know in the Bible it says "Man shall not lie with another man", but I have a bone to pick with this.

Now, before I go on, I actually innerstand why they do this. It has everything to do with not making the human race extinct, and actually I get that part of it, I truly truly do.

But here's my gripe with this. Let's say I wanted to be with another man, but we don't hold hands in public unless surrounded by other adults of consenting age, we don't have children, we don't go to Gay Pride Parades, and we don't "flaunt" it or whatever you wanna call it. We advocate against drag queens reading to children and we advocate against "gender studies" or whatever it's called in schools now. We don't get married in a Church. We don't have sex till we have our own marriage. And we even follow laws that say we can't have any say over what happens when him or I die. In other words, we're gay but respectful of other's beliefs. Does that make us bad people, all because we just want to live life and praise God in our own way without interfering with the well-being of children or their families?

I don't see a problem with this personally, but I'm curious to know what other people think. Cause I agree, children should not be exposed to that at all. Children are so innocent, and to ruin a child's innocence is a terrible thing. But at the same time, if it's with 2 adults and they don't show it in public, and they respect society's and the Church's wishes, what's the harm being done?

The Bible says nothing about that. Homosexuality is quite simply an abomination to God. Period.

God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for
unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and
were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and
received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
From Romans 1:26-27

Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

If a man lies with a man as with a woman, they have both committed an abomination.

Go right ahead then; you'll have to answer to God, not me. You know His word, you know the truth. It will be by this truth you'll be judged.

Homosexuality is a sin and God condemns it. Repent and ask God to forgive you. He will.

Just a quick note, there's nothing in the bible or christian tradition about 'don't commit homosexual behavior because otherwise humanity won't reproduce'. There's no correlation.

The question is what are you trying to accomplish, and with who?

Are you trying to make a civic deal with christian society? Are you trying to be in good standing with God? Are you asking what scripture says about all you're asking? Cause those are different issues.

The bible says homosexual behavior is sin. You ask "what harm is being done". You have to find out what sin is to understand the answer to your question. Complicated questions have complicated answers. If you really want to know, you can find out.

I saw what you have in your profile: "When saved: I've been saved this entire time." First, I encourage you to be courageous in finding out who God is without a "prenuptial agreement"... that is "I'll only let God be God if he agrees to these stipulations first". You can't create your own God and find the real one at the same time. Scripture says the wages of sin in death and through trust in Jesus you can be saved from the wages of sin and have eternal life. Ask God to show you who he is.

You asked if you do all those things does that make you "bad people"? That's not how christian theology sees those issues. Everyone is sinful. Everyone has a sinful nature, a struggle with the flesh (sin literally means "missing the mark"), everyone has fallen short of the glory of God. Everyone needs Jesus' salvation. In christian thought, homosexual attraction is what some people experience, it's not what a person is. Homosexual behavior would be more akin to sleeping with a married person. "Who is harmed?" is not the only concern of a christian. It's a spiritual and 'relationship with God' issue. If you're not a christian, it may not be your concern. Don't get second-hand information about christianity, get it yourself. Read Mark, Romans, Galatians and Genesis.

Second, about what you wrote. Many of those things are courteous, wise, good, loving and would create good will and peace. If you do all those things, it won't make christians say that the bible says homosexual behavior is OK with God. We should all try to understand other people's perspectives and situations. We'll never know exactly what it's like, but we should all still try to love each other and be peacemakers.

You're argument is from a social standpoint. It's not a social issue. It's a spiritual one. Being polite about it doesn't change what the Bible says.

I mean... Why would you WANT to?

Have you ever met girls? A lot of them are really nice once you get to know them. ;)

Homosexuals are like people who go to a big buffet dinner, but they only eat the pack of crackers they brought with them. What a waste.

Are you a Christian? I'm just wondering if your viewpoint comes from a Christian or non-Christian perspective?

I'm Spiritual, I don't have a Church. My "Church" is the people who are Mid-class or lower. That's my Church....

It could be a regular person who keeps coming back after getting banned and writes similar threads over and over.

This is my only account, anyone else saying these things, is not coming from me. I can attest to it. You should be able to go into your Admin Dashboard and see if there are any accounts connected to mine. This is my only account....

I appreciate your honesty. As a Christian I pray the best for you, though I can't support the things in your original post. Homosexuality is wrong in God's eyes, whether it's in front of kids or not.

What's the harm being done? No more than the harm in going around curves too fast or running a program your systems administrator has told you not to run...

If I always take meticulous care of my car, keep up with oil changes to the exact mile, keep the tires properly inflated and never exactly go too fast... But I am, let's say economical with braking when I go around corners, can I complain about the manufacturer when my suspension is shot in a couple of years?

From the other end, a lot of people ask me about computer advice and then ignore me. When they do things I tell them not to do with their computers, or when they don't run an antivirus scan every so often, can they blame me when their computers mess up? They'd better not. After a few times they'd better not even ask me to fix it again.

You are free to live your life however you want. But the Bible tells you how you should live it. When you are deliberately doing something the Bible said not to do and your life messes up, you asked for it.

Yeah, that's the problem with sin: sinners love to sin.

No sin affects only you. That's not how sin works.

A lot of people like to think that's how it works, but it never works that way.
