there's literally only TWO real reason for it, as a Prayer Language or for Edification.DO YOU BELIEVE IN SPEAKING IN TONG'S FOR TODAY ? AND IF NOT WHY ?
So, you are saying that if a believer does not speak in tongues, he/she is simply not hungry enough for God? Speaking in tongues is a requirement to be in the "super-holy club" ?How hungry are you for God?
hello , no I am not saying that at all,So, you are saying that if a believer does not speak in tongues, he/she is simply not hungry enough for God? Speaking in tongues is a requirement to be in the "super-holy club" ?
hello. there's a place and a time, for speaking in tongues, it up to each person, to use wisdom, it should used in your alone prayer time with God, and church, and if you happen to be praying for some one, you might have to pray in the spirit, in the right tune, not all loud, to build up your own faith to pray the right prayer, I can under stand how some people might use there gifts incorrectly, God is a God of Oder, and reason, and praying in tongues is not a show, its a about connecting with God, to help people. In regards to speaking in tongues, I will never forget when my friend (who previously attended an Assemblies of God church) went to a Bible study at his Pastor's house once a week and sometimes the Pastor would speak in tongues during their Bible study. My friend worked with a woman who attended a Baptist church and she was terrified of being around people who spoke in tongues, yet my friend convinced her to come to the Bible study to see for herself that she has nothing to fear. When his lady friend showed up at the Bible study, as soon as she walked in the front door, the Pastor began speaking in tongues very loudly with his hands high in the air, then he fell backwards to the floor, like he was doing the Nestea plunge! My friend said that even he was freaked out by the incident and when he turned around, his lady friend was running for the hills!
Then perhaps you should re-word your question to not appear accusatory.... just sayin'.....hello , no I am not saying that at all,
hello , no I am not saying that at all,
Well that's the point. It produces "two-tiered" Christianity, since those who hold to tongues teach that it is the "evidence" of being baptized "in" the Spirit.Speaking in tongues is a requirement to be in the "super-holy club" ?
Relax, you don't understand enough to really be debating this issue. I can see your attempt to relay what you have been taught behind the Pulpit and what you read aren't on the same page.hello , no I am not saying that at all,
Thank you, I' have to stir the POT,Relax, you don't understand enough to really be debating this issue. I can see your attempt to relay what you have been taught behind the Pulpit and what you read aren't on the same page.
But you are debating people who have not only been taught that God created people specifically for Hell, or we are predestined when Jesus was talking about His Disciples in the Gospel of John, and you mix these combinations of looking at God as Monster and you twist the ousting of the Jews in place for an even more Demonic idealism known as Replacement Theology.
So remember, this is who is opposing your reasoning for this Thread.
So step on the Gas and present Scripture and if you make a mistake, don't sweat it, you got people with real Knowledge of the Holy Word of God backing you.
HELLO EVERYONE, Speaking in tongues in a Gift from God, every believer has this gift, its up to the person, if he wants the gift or not,
Yes this looks good, when a person wants more of God, and wants to grow spiritually ,it is different, because your trusting in God and not your own under standing, yours submitting your self to God, your father, and you will grow in peace ,loveI am not ready to dismiss these and other "supernatural" gifts of the Spirit, as some of my Cessationist friends have. But at the same time, they are sacred and should be treated as such, not to be falsely displayed.
I listened to a series on YouTube that I found to be a good take on this from a Calvary Chapel church out of Ontario, Oregon. Links below. I am not a member of a Calvary Chapel church myself, but rather someone that fellowships at a very conservative Baptist church.

I just ordered the book Charisma vs. Charismania by Chuck Smith and am reading it now. I think this might provide some additonal insight.
Spiritual gifting is done by the Holy Spirit. He gifts as He wills. Not everyone gets every gift.Hello every one. we all believe in the bible ,and we believe in Jesus, and Jesus is the Truth , the hole truth, then we must believe and trust in his word, the hole word of God, 1 Corinthians 12, Paul talks about Diversity of Gifts , every believer has, its up to you, if you want theses gifts or not, all you have to do is ask and believe and receive what he wants you to have, the ball in in your court, the word does not change ,God does not change, we are the ones how need to change,
