"An overwhelming majority of scientists including most Christians working in scientific fields have concluded that the science evidence conclusively points us to the great antiquity of the earth. "

"This year's GSA meeting was at the Portland Convention Center in mid-October. Geologists who are Christians actively participated, and both young-earth and old-earth creationist views were heard. Christian geologists found various ways to bring attention to their practice and faith--by leading a field trip, delivering scientific papers, assembling as the Affiliation of Christian Geologists, identifying with certain Christian academic institutions, and attending the "Darwin Day" presentation. Praise God! You are experiencing the same as the Messiah. May you be blessed and strengthened always.. I have one who verbally opened up yesterday rather angry at me. she asserted that she dosent believe and won’t believe because of science and said she was a bit offended because I’m allegedly rude by not respecting her beliefs. She claims so because Shes not trying to shove a science book in my face so why would I be ok sharing my beliefs . I’ve been nothing but kind to this person. I didn’t condemn. I spoke the truth as lovingly as I could when talking about Jesus and what He can do for her. To her I simply replied and asked if she understood that Christianity and science don’t have to be directly opposed and that if she was open to that I could show her how science and Christianity agree. I don’t think she wanted to hear it sadly. She told me I was being rude and still pushy . I responded that I love her and have nothing but the best of intentions for her and that I’m sorry that’s coming across as pushy. I told her I love you enough to tell you the truth even if that truth hurts a bit. At which point she cut contact. Blocked my number etc. When she does decide to contact again. How do I lovingly approach it again?
Maybe some folks just need reminding, though—like Paul!I suspect that those who reject the gospel will reject it regardless of the estate of the messenger. While an obviously hypocritical messenger provides an easy excuse, someone who is looking for excuses generally has no shortage of excuses.
John 5:19 says Jesus always did what He saw the Father doing. A better way to witness might be to just wait until one sees God at work and join Him in it.
I'm not suggesting that a life of piety and faith is unimportant. I believe it is. Living well through the difficulties of life is often the impetus for someone in their own difficulties seeking such a person out. I just don't believe people who refuse the good news lack for excuses.
Hello again FollowingtheWay, it's one thing to talk about such secondary matters with believers, but I'd figure out how to stay clear of things which have nothing to do with the Gospel when talking to the unsaved (and do all that you can to redirect the conversation back to the Gospel if Cheyene, or anyone else, tries to change the topic to something like origins). Doing so is a nothing more than a game or a distraction that unbelievers play to shift the conversation away from the only issue that's important, their need for the Lord Jesus Christ, and it's a trap that is easy for us to fall into because almost any topic is more comfortable to talk about than the Gospel is (as doing so necessitates talking about the "bad news" that made it necessary in the first place).Thankyou for these. I was looking into stuff like that for when she might be open to it. What are your thoughts on the material produced by https://www.icr.org

Right now, the only thing that is necessary for her to understand is why/from what she needs to be saved, and who the Savior is, of course, and you may have to face the fact that she is not be ready to hear about all of that yet (I wasn't saved when I turned 30, but the Lord finally got past the brick that I used to have upstairs where my brain was supposed to be 2 months later and here I am, still very much His nearly 37 years later, PTL).
Quite frankly, if there is no interest, much less desperation on her part to find an answer to her 'real' problem (when the Gospel is presented to her), and/or if you find that you have try to "sell" certain aspects of Christianity to make it palatable enough for her to even talk about, then she has no understanding of her true, spiritual condition and/or her true need yet (but planting/watering seeds about that, about her spiritual condition and need, that is, is what you need to leave her with, NOT with the fact that there may be a way to mesh what atheistic science teaches with the Bible! Such secondary and tertiary topics need to be carefully, but intentionally rejected so that the focus of our conversations with the unsaved remain on topic, on the one and only topic that truly matters, whether they know it or not, yes?).
God bless you!!
~Deuteronomy
You need no forethought or ideas for witnessing, just tell the truth of what you have seen and heard, and praise Jesus.
Avoid using them, they have too many errors in their materials. The Old Earth creationists have professionals and well educated Sciencists. If you want to reach someone for Jesus, stay away from Young Earth Creationists.Thankyou for these. I was looking into stuff like that for when she might be open to it.
