these individuals' opinions should be considered but not authoritative. Nothing said has changed what I asked about pre-Day one in Genesis chapter 1. Nor does it answer it.

God ordained a day, correct? And some here believe a " day " is a 100-year, yet how come Adam died, and his age was 930 and not 1000 years old? Adam was made on the 6th day. That's 1000 Years?

because he wouldn't have realised one day lasting as long as a thousand days

The day was would have been one day but it would have lasted as long as a thousand days. That's the belief. Your maybe seeing a thousand days.

LOL, I'm sorry Adam walked with God, talked with God, and named all the animals as God told him to do. He did not have an understanding? FYI, Adam did not record his age in Genesis, Moses did. Where did Moses get that age of Adam of 930 or did not Mose know a 1000 year"IS a day "?

Everything would have slowed right down.

So technically he still has only aged one day even tho that days lasted as long as a thousand.

If you go into God's time zone a day would still be a day.

I will tell you because the word of God doesn't say "1000 years is a day" the word of God says it is LIKE, not the same AS or IS.

It is a relational statement. metaphorical and prophetic.

He was 930 when he died. Moses did not know the age of Adam as God gave it to him? Moses just threw out that 930?

You are making it up as you go.
 
Say that God told us these six first days were normal days, but actually they were tousands of years? Then it would make God a liar. But God is not a liar. Ergo: It must be exactly what he said - six normal days, and the Earth is about 6000 years old.

And, yes, Moses wrote down the first five books in the Bible, but this is also a miracle from God, that the details in them were written correct and perfect.

I'm neither liberal or a theologian. I generally enjoy reading your comments. First it doesn't exist and then only in the minds of liberal theologians. What different would it make even if it were new coinage of a term?

as you know ( believe you do) liberal theologians are very problematic today and have been so since the 1960's.

Liberal theologians aren't any more a problem than they have ever been. Extrabiblical simply means not rising to the level of scripture.
Many are actually very helpful. Others are not. Discernment is necessary.
My comments weren't directed towards you but another poster who gave a number of sources for his argument and I merely asked did it give him any pause that his references weren't actually scriptural.
 
I dont know, Im not the best at maths but someone must have added up all the years from Adams lineage all the descendants until you come to Jesus and the we count years from Jesus until present day so add on 2023 years.

Jesus lineage is listed in Luke chapter 3 from Adam.

Can someone actually list the names and ages and do the mathematical working out so we can see how they got to this figure?
 
Jewish calendar, of recorded time is up to year 5783 ...so at least that old. Im supposing year 1 includes the creation week.

Discernment? What about truth? I am not taking what you say personally nor should you my commentary a perspective as I see the issue with those who say 1000 years IS a day and have only one verse in scripture to build on. Do I think days literal days of 24 hours are possible with GOD to create on? Yes, I do. Do I know for sure it was 24 hrs? or 1000 years which would be 365,000 days?

No, I do not. Does it matter other than God is the "First Cause uncaused"? Not at all. If an atheist wants to argue the 6-day / 1000-year creation I let them and have no need to engage them why?

because a fool has said in their hear there is no God. And debating a fool makes you one too.
