That's a common bit of homespun wisdom but it's not what scripture teaches:

"Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit." Matthew 7:16-18
Some trees needa pruning to produce good fruit . Not all need be dried up. Do you know any Christian who does everything correctly to the Scriptures? I have never met one.

I dont like the show.

Before saying anything just let me state I'm not attacking you; this is just my opinion. The parable you may be referring to is in Luke 13. It's not about good and bad fruit; the tree isn't bearing any fruit at all.

"He also spoke this parable: A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground? But he answered and said to him, Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.”

You seem to be making essentially the same argument Dallas Jenkins has made: Judge us by the content of the show, not the creators of it. Why does Jenkins try so hard to deflect from the creators of the content? To me it's pretty obvious—they're rotten to the core. The Chosen, Inc. can't produce good content because the tree is rotten. You can't divorce the content from its creators.

Never thought of you as an attack , we dont always agree on topics but you , to me , are one of the good guys. I was not thinking of a parable, just we all need pruning every so often. Dallas showed his colours , saying he and the LDS love the same Jesus . The LDS involved is more troublesome then the ugly pride flag.

Except that is not what he said at all, as he was not speaking of LDS in general or as a whole but referring only to
certain individuals within LDS whom he has known for many years and had in-depth conversations with about Jesus.

From what i heard on the video he said something like the LDS he has known for a while 'we love the same Jesus. We all know videos can be cut and spliced. For me i dont care if he has known them all his life they do not love serve worship the same Jesus as Christians . Do i have the who he was talking about correct?

All the ugly pride flag stands for is open sin. In your face sin LDS is subtil like the serpent in the garden. To imply or say Christians love the same Jesus as the LDS to my understand is akin to blasphemy . They (LDS) have snuck in , got their head in the tent.

I have visited Churches around the world....and I really am worried about them as a whole. Sure they read scripture...but really understanding them and what they mean is just about absent.
And America is supposed to be this great spiritual leader sending missionaries everywhere to preach the Gospel message....but what message are they sending?

A few scriptures keep coming to mind.

"When the power of the Holy people is shattered"
And
"They are like sheep without a shepherd"

The actions of the people in this series is great....it personifies the characters we have read about for so many years.....making them real people instead of cardboard cutouts.

The Jesus in this series?
I got a problem with this one. It isn't my Jesus...the Jesus who created the night sky as a man would put up a tent. Who was so passionate about his mission to die on the cross for me and to have fellowship with average people.
And so I really don't follow the Jesus they are making. This one is a bumbling idiot who doesn't know what to say or why to say it.
this was all prophesied.. that there would be a great falling away.

America needs to send the gospel to itself. before he can send missionaries out.

Derral Eves (Chief Strategy Officer and Director of The Chosen, Inc.) has served in the LDS as elders quorum president, bishopric counselor, bishop, and counselor in a stake presidency.

Brad Pelo (President of The Chosen, Inc.) has been a lifelong member of the LDS and has served as a bishop twice.

https://leadingsaints.org/2-latter-...-an-interview-with-derral-eves-and-brad-pelo/

It doesn't get any more LDS than this. If Dallas Jenkins thinks the Jesus these two men believe in is the same Jesus as the One in the Bible he's crazy.

Do you have evidence that is who he was speaking of when he said he has known them for years
and had in-depth conversations with them about Jesus? Because if they are not, your willingness
to cast aspersions and spread misinformation are slanderous gossip and logical fallacies.

How could we expect any less from you? Just yesterday you identified yourself as "not a true Christian."

You have told so many lies in this and other threads, I am losing track of them.

I'm thinking....
And to me it seems that somehow the Churches these days want the Christian people but not their God. And their actions (by means of what is taught from the pulpits) seems to reflect that often.

@Magenta I am surprised at your understanding of "Loving the same Jesus as LDS'" From all you post just doesnt seem you could accept the LDS and Christian Jesus are the same. I am not saying a person that is trapped in LDS can not get out if God calls then out and they are His sheep they will hear and know His voice and get out. Having non Christian friends is not a sin do non Christians love the real Jesus ?

I'm done talking about the queer flag, I'm Addressing the video of the building that Zander just posted yesterday. The flaming pastor of the ucc "church" formerly with the flaming steeple and he teaches a false gospel and that there are "contradictions in the Bible", much like his father who spoke to Eve. Those are not my brothers and sisters in Christ. Jude certainly described it. Everyone should avoid the Churches of Christ. It started out that way and will end the same accordingly.

"These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13Raging These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the
blackness of darkness for ever. "

6:30 Video mark. Is where the flaming shepherd leads his goats.

Again, false doctrine warning throughout.

I am surprised at your inability to grasp the fact that DJ was not talking about the Jesus of LDS understanding, but the Jesus
of particular people within the LDS whom he has known for years and had in-depth conversations with about Jesus.

I certainly agree that the LDS in general and as a whole is way off about Who Jesus is.

That does not equate to individuals in LDS not being able to know Him personally.

Why do they stay within such a corrupt system? Your guess is as good as mine.

Very much the same as any truly saved RCC anyone may know, who stays with that system.

We will not agree I see dallas words as accepting the LDS Jesus you dont . To my understanding they stay because they do not know Jesus. They know the jesus and accept what they are told they accept a false gospel and a false Christ , be it LDS JW or RCC ETC . I wont bug you about this any more.

From my own travels I have talked to and known people who stay in the RCC because they hope to win their family and friends to the Lord. And I can't question that if they feel called to do so.

I do recall my mother brought a couple ladies into our home that were going to door. Most people won't do that. She brought them in and countered their arguments so much that they said they'd have to send someone else that was "more learned" than they were. Mom said that was fine and to send them along but no one ever came by after that. I think they put out a warning about our house. lol

Dallas specifically said he was not talking about the LDS as a whole.

So why you keep pushing that agenda is beyond me.

There were some LDS knocking at my daughter's door one day when I was there. Everyone told me, don't answer the door, don't answer the door! LOL. I answered the door. I told them straight off I was a born again Christian, and I had a little chat with them. They gave me their book of Mormon which I threw in the garbage. I don't think they ever came back to my daughter's house after that, though. If you keep avoiding them, they will persist. Many many years ago (long before I was Christian) some JWs came knocking at my door. I sent them away. Then I realized it was snowing out, and they were only wearing suits with no over coat. So I ran after them and invited them in for a cup of tea. I was brought up to be hospitable (up to a point) to strangers, but they did not sway me with whatever they were peddling. I was trying to get away from religion then, not invite it into my life. But I could not just let them wander about in the freezing cold either, without giving them a hot drink, before sending them on their way.

My grandmother use to say "the devil has a facsimile of everything". I know that's probably not Biblically "sound" but I knew what she meant. It's a pity people get bound in these belief systems. I try to be a witness when they come to my door, but I do have a German Shepard and she isn't so hospitable.

It's sound enough, knowing the devil copies pretty much everything of God trying to deceive people.

Matthew 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform
great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible.

As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we beg you, brothers
and sisters, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though
from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here. Let no one deceive you in any way; for that
day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for
destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he
takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2:1–4

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but only until the one who now restrains it is removed.
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth,
annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working
of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of wicked deception
for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2 Thessalonians 2:7–10
