This is a matter of chronology, not theology. Check out Martin Anstey's Chronology of the Old Testament. He addresses all the issues in detail.
The word states Adam was indeed created on the 6th day. All of mankind exists having come initially from the loins of Adam. Scripture reveals Eve was created out of Adam as well. Thus when Adam was created by God, Eve existed in Him. And through procreation Eve became the mother of all living.
God's command for Adam and Eve to rule over the earth and multiply had to start somewhere, and it did AFTER they were expelled from the garden. (Gen. 4:1)
The best approach is to believe God's word whether it makes sense to our natural mind. And let that anchor assist in pursuit of understanding. Consider that the geography of the earth changed dramatically after the flood. Thus, it doesn't matter whether a sea CURRENTLY exists in Turkey. God's word is TRUE. Questioning that fact is what leads to deception.
I'm not questioning God's word at all....
The only thing I'm questioning is our possible misunderstanding of it. Reading Genesis 1 through 3 could very easily explain a LOT of the "questions" that a majority of the God-deniers pose as "proof" that the Bible is not true.
1. Who did Cain marry? Who was Cain afraid would kill him if they find him?
2. How do you explain scientific proof that mankind existed so long ago? Possibly before the time of Adam.
Perhaps.... just perhaps, we mis-read Genesis. God created man and woman on the 6th day, and told them to go out into the world and rule over it, be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth. That was the end of the 6th day.
So, in the normal understanding, God created all the beasts and cattle of the earth, then created Man, had him naming all the animals, then decided to create woman, put Adam to sleep, created woman. Then Adam and Eve sinned, were hiding from God, and got cast out of the Garden..... all before the end of the 6th day? Because in Gen 1, God created man and woman and told them to go into all the world.... he did not tell Adam and Eve to go into all the world until after the "fall" ..... the timing just doesn't seem to work out.
So, in my hypothesis.... God created generic man and woman on the 6th day, told them to go be fruitful and multiply.
Sometime later, perhaps a few thousand years, after the earth was populated, God began His chosen race of people.... through Adam, which means "son of God". Of course Adam and Eve messed that up, so God pushed them out into the already populated world to live like the generic men and women. They were still God's chosen race, but they had to live like everyone else. Adam calling his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living could still be true..... she would have been the mother of all the living that Adam knew about at the time....
this could explain how mankind was on the earth way before Adam... it would also explain who Cain was afraid of when he was cast away, and who he married.
It could also explain the "sons of God taking the women of mankind" ..... Adam's descendants marrying into the generic mankind ..
Just some thoughts I've had.
Your studies assume that the geneologies do not skip generations in order to present the names that the writers wanted to highlight. For example, Matthew's geneology certainly does that very thing. Don't assume that the geneologies are modern writers' listings; the biblical writers don't list names that way, in strict chronological order but according to their themes or purposes--all inspired, of course.
Toss this into the mix:
I've been working on a Concept concerning when Moses was shown God's BACKSIDE, but not His FACE:
Exodus 33
21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
I believe this is God taking Moses back to the creation, what God has already accomplished. God was not willing to show his face, the future of what he would do for that nation of Israel. Earlier, Moses was pleading with the Lord to show him what would become of his people and that God would give them grace as they went forth.
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
In this Concept, Moses is shown by God, the Creation, which Moses would later write down as he formatted the Torah.
Essentially, just as the Apostle John saw the FUTURE to Come in Revelation, Moses, when seeing the BACKSIDE of History, saw the actual Creation and wrote what he saw.
And, if we take by what we read in the Torah, and apply this to what Moses saw when God revealed His Creation to Moses. It's clear, Moses, DID NOT SEE Evolution, but God SPEAKING things into Existence.
Moses, was second in line to the Pharaoh, Top Educated, brilliant mind, and it did not hurt to be Chosen before Birth to lead God's People. He articulates rather clear in Genesis One nothing that could be skewed as evolving. What he saw became imprinted into ink and exists as an account we are required to deem factual. And what he specifies is that God Spoke and it Immediately Happened.
Something else that I believe gives more credence to this Concept I am working with.
כִּ֣י שֵֽׁשֶׁת־יָמִים֩ עָשָׂ֨ה יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶת־הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם וְאֶת־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֶת־הַיָּם֙ וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֔ם וַיָּ֖נַח בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑י עַל־כֵּ֗ן בֵּרַ֧ךְ יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־י֥וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֖ת וַֽיְקַדְּשֵֽׁהוּ׃ {ס}
For in six days God made heaven and earth and sea—and all that is in them—and then rested on the seventh day; therefore God blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.
In Conclusion, this quiets the idea was Evolution how God Created Life? + This All took place in 6 Literal Days!
I don't think that questioning our understanding of Scripture (traditional thought) is the same as questioning God, so I like that you seem to be digging for answers.
I question the 6000 year timeline too, but for very different reasons. Still, I do believe that the Gen. 1 account is pretty straight-forward and can't see Him creating "generic man" and then 1000 years later creating Adam & Eve, idk?

What's wrong with the "timing"?
It's like seeing a train car full of coal going to be used for fuel or energy. Science has a Theory that Diamonds develop from Coal at around the 1 million year mark. By the same Theory, that makes the Coal being used for fuel and energy around 350,000 years old. This is based off Diamonds are so hard, its compressed hardness that must require time to go from the softness of Coal to the hardness of Diamonds.
But no one has ever lived a million years, or 350,000, and no one had they did left us any clues to this answer.
So, it's the Eye Test, not the Fact Finding way.
It truly is indeed a Voltaire Reasoning Methodology.
Which is, lets use the same Formula but change the numbers until what makes sense for sand oil to become Coal and then to a Diamond. Million Years sounds about right.

Ive never had a problem thinking Cain married his sister, in fact I often wonder how many children Adam and Eve had, thinking that there life span was 10 times ours, I presume they were in their physical prime from age 20 to 400 how many kids would they chuck out? plus they would be great grandparents while still having kids. So Cain could have thousands of nieces and nephews.
I think it should be said that marrying your brother or sister was not a sin back then, Only later did God say not to marry close relations like in Lev 18 for example “Do not have sexual relations with your sister or half sister, whether she is your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born into your household or someone else’s. “Do not have sexual relations with your granddaughter, whether she is your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, for this would violate yourself. “Do not have sexual relations with your stepsister, the daughter of any of your father’s wives, for she is your sister. “Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister, for she is your father’s close relative. “
There are some good articles somewhere I cant find them about genetic mutations and inbreeding and it makes perfect sense if one believes Adam and Eve were perfect and carried all humanity's genetic code, as all genetic information gradually lessens with each generation and the chance of mutation increases in close relatives, I know its the opposite to what evolution teaches but they also contradict themselves.

There could be BOTH… a garden of Eden on Earth and one in Heaven. Just like an Earthly Jerusalem and a Heavenly Jerusalem.
Plenty of folks have, and 6,000, -7,000 years is as good an estimation of the chronological age of THIS CREATION. Bishop Ussher produced his chronology 400 years ago, and it's the "Popular one".
However, there may have been OTHER CREATIONS on this dirt ball that were previous to this one.
It's called the "GAP THEORY" - i.e. that there's an unknown amount of time between Gen 1:1, and Gen 1:2 wherein any number of things could have happened.
