In discussing the exodus date our first evaluation will be with rabbinic teachers. They are not consistent when it comes to the number of years in Egypt but the approximation is 215 years. Now this contradicts the Masorectic text in which we and all the english versions use, and they doubt their own text. It appears they are counting time from the Offering of the Pieces by Abraham which would make it 215 in Egypt and 215 years in Cannan.
In the Septuagint text which is at least a 1000 years older and the scrolls Jesus read from say 430 years in Egypt and Cannan. The Septuagint text is just as credible or moreso than the Masorectic. The early church only had the Septuagint to use in Hebrew, Aramaic, or Syrian till about 900 AD.
Note --please keep in mind a covenant between man and God can also be Man's will upon his death, just as Jesus' covenant became effective upon his death.

15 To give a human example, brethren: no one annuls even a man’s will, or adds to it, once it has been ratified. 16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many; but, referring to one, “And to your offspring,” which is Christ. 17 This is what I mean: the law, which came four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. 18 For if the inheritance is by the law, it is no longer by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.
If you understand time in the Bible you would know Abraham was born in hear 1948 from creation and lived 175 years making Abraham's death in year 2123. Add 430 years and the Exodus date is year 2553 from creation with 115 years in Cannan and 315 years in Egypt. I have much more abot time but can't include everything in this thread'
Four generation total were in Egypt, two generations went in and the fourth generation came out less 40 years in the wilderness. jacob lived 147 years, stood before Pharaoh at 130, lived 17 years in Egypt. When Jacob stood before Pharaoh the year was 2238. Taking the Exodus date of 2553 says 315 years passed between Jacob stood before Pharaoh and the Exodus. The day was Passover in all cases from Abraham death , Jacob's standing and the Passover exit from Egypt.
