Eze 36:25, Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Eze 36:26, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27, And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
All things God does...not the individual.

But you do have a Bible so they are in there. Maybe you do not see them in your Bible either?

Curious...what translation are you using?
I use the kjv and the NLT...where there is discrepancy, I believe that the kjv trumps every other version.

No, I did not see them in my Bible either. Did you?

Maybe you can bring them to the forefront for us, by quoting them to us.

I started a whole thread on being baptized in Jesus' Name.

Nevertheless I started a whole other thread affirming the Trinity.
Well good on yah! Another thread.

Funny though that you will not come right out and say you are not Oneness devotees.

If your being baptised TO BE SAVED

it is a work

learn the defenition of a work.

matt 10 is about confessing to men not baptism,

Luke 12 is also about confessing to men

I am not saved because I confess to men.
Jesus will confess you before His Father and the angels if you confess Him before men...is that not salvation?

And yes, baptism in Jesus' Name is a confession, to the uttermost, of Jesus Christ before men.

No turning back.

In order to refute the argument that the thief on the cross was never baptized, all I need to do is produce reasonable doubt. If there is even the possibility that he was baptized, then your argument falls apart.

For it to work, it must be absolutely true that the thief was never baptized.
And how much reasonable doubt would you like to spread around scripture? Anything you do not find that agrees with your beliefs?

Your beliefs fall apart is what falls apart though LOL!...You just cannot seem to understand that the NT ordinance for baptism is not the same as John's baptism no matter how much you want it to be.

He could be baptized 7 ways from Sunday and it would still not be the believer's baptism.

Truly, you have a personal case of the blind leading the blind.

John 3: 22 - 26 is a different context.

Please try to stick to what is being spoken of here..
22 - 26 has nothing to do with being born again or Jesus conversation with nicodemus
I'm sorry but I was going by what you said; that the concept was not in chapter 3 of John.

You were clearly mistaken on that.

And verses 22-26 are clearly in the immediate context of John 3:3-5; being in the same chapter.

Wrong

In acts 2. peter tells everyone to repent, and they will recieve the gift of the holy spirit

he then tells those who repented to be baptised because they recieved remission of sin.

again, learn to study the greek..
I go by the English because I believe that God preserves His unadulterated message in the English.

The original manuscripts have been lost to us. Therefore it is a mistake to attempt to rely on the Greek.

We3ll you misrepresenting Acts 2: 32 to say something it does nto say does not help you

but hey, if you want to replace the work of God with some pastor immersing you in water. feel free
At least give the right reference when you are referencing scripture.

Acts 2:38-39 does in fact speak of a conditional promise given to as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Wrong

In acts 2. peter tells everyone to repent, and they will recieve the gift of the holy spirit

he then tells those who repented to be baptised because they recieved remission of sin.

again, learn to study the greek..

We need to see Acts 2:36-41 in context.

Acts 2:36-41 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified." 37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, (at this point the believed) and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" 38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself." 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.

If they were saved from their sins and received the gift of the Holy Spirit before they were baptized, why does it say in verse 40 that they needed to yet be saved? Also, we see in verse 41 that they were not added to the church until they were baptized.

So, how do you arrive at the fact that they had already been saved from their sins and had received the gift of the Holy Spirit before they were baptized?

God bless you,
Wayne

Are you Oneness Pentecostal? Yes or no....if you do not answer I will take it for a yes

One cannot say they are discussing when one is actually teaching though....:whistle:
I have been baptized in Jesus' Name but currently attend a Calvary Chapel and believe in the Trinity with an emphasis on the Oneness of the Lord.

Does that answer your question?

I am not denyong acts 2. I interpret it correctly

Once again, it does nto say what you think it says

you can repeat the same mistake till your blue in the face. it does not make you right..

Study the greek. study how the words were used..

It does nto say what you think it says. period
You interpret it incorrectly; because either you have not been baptized according to Acts 2:38 and want to believe that you are saved; or else you have been and want to believe that certain loved ones are saved apart from being baptized in Jesus' Name.

That is definitely a motivation for believing your false doctrine.

Does that answer your question?
So you do not believe in baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Which was obvious by now.

You attend a Calvary Chapel church that teaches baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit so that is contentious for you

You say you believe in the Trinity but with a twist of Oneness

Yeah......none of that is sound doctrine. Thanks for that though

Well she/he is one of you so there yah go.

Birds of a feather

But you know what? I got agreement for my prayer that that person's word will fall to the ground. And since we are both believers, I know that I have the thing that I have asked for.

It irks you, doesn't it, that people might be saved because of this thread?

Hi Niki7,

According to Acts 2:21, it says, "AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

According to this scripture, the only thing a person has to do to be saved is call on the name of the Lord. Believing, repentance and baptism are not mentioned in this verse.

God bless you,
Wayne
In context of Acts 2:21, Peter required that they be baptized in the name of Jesus.

culturally and historically, "calling on the name of the Lord" happens at the time of baptism.

They had to have fruits that befit baptism. Sorrow and repentance were those fruits. God was already at work in them.
Again, those fruits may not develop immediately as the result of being baptized.

They may suddenly appear later (as with the thief).

It's really not looking good for you at this point. The Holy Spirit indwells believers as God promised.

You have no real clue do you. Are you all really just a bunch of trolls pretending to believe in Christ?

No actual believer in Christianity (even with differences in doctrine) would say what you just said

Getting really out there you are
What I just said, is actually taught by Chuck Smith and the entire Calvary Chapel movement.
