Yes, it is the clear teaching of the Bible that Jesus took the punishment for our sins. When Jesus was on the cross (and maybe before) did He take the punishment for our sins?
In the scriptures it's written about Jesus in Isaiah 53: 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Let's go to end because Jesus says in John 19: 28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
So if you can understand these scriptures and put these verses together, you should get your answer.
If you commit a crime but I volunteer to do the time for you, I am not being punished, but I am suffering. A penalty (punishment) for the crime is implemented and justice is served.what does this proove ?
Does this prove Jesus was punished for our sins ?.
The wages for sin is death and that still stands for unbelievers.
If Jesus took the punishment for sin, then your going to have show exactly that context.
Again the only verse I can find is Jesus suffered for our sins.
Punishment Is different to suffering.
It is impossible for anyone to volunteer to do the time for someone else's crime. If you commit a crime but I volunteer to do the time for you, I am not being punished, but I am suffering. A penalty (punishment) for the crime is implemented and justice is served.
Come on snacker seariously,If you commit a crime but I volunteer to do the time for you, I am not being punished, but I am suffering. A penalty (punishment) for the crime is implemented and justice is served.
You should read Isaiah 53. The end does tell of unparalleled exaltation. But the rest speaks of unrivaled humiliation. That humiliation took the form of lowliness in position, suffering in life, and suffering in death. There is no exaltation without the severe humiliation. He was a man of sorrows.Come on snacker seariously,
Jesus died for our sins means Jesus gave his life for our sins, so we could have a chance.
The reason Jesus died for our sins was so a new incorruptible seed could be born via Jesus beating sin in the flesh, to which that seed could be passed via being blessed with the fruits of the holy spirit.
This was victory not punishment.
The father gave his son for this reason, not because he knew he would be punished or that he knew he would suffer.
Jesus was not sent to suffer for our sins or be punished for them, his father sent him for victory.
And the victory is for those who repent in Jesus name.
Yes he suffered yes he bore the sin's of the world upon his mighty shoulders, but that's because he could and can, as he is the mighty as the father toJesus will just banish sins into the sea of tranquility

Think outside the American box. Not only is it possible, it’s done all the time in certain countries. Rich people pay poor people to do time for them; and it’s legal. It is impossible for anyone to volunteer to do the time for someone else's crime.
