Read the whole passage. It is the resurrection that saves us.
Yes, we are "risen with Christ" through "the faith of the operation of God".
To be risen, we must first be buried in baptism.
Colossians 2:12.

Hi Wayne, it is referring to the promise of remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost...Dear Heartwashed,
Thank you very much for your question. Let me quote to you, the whole context of Acts 2:39 that you mentioned above and ask you a question. For the second verse, may I start a new thread on it. I will try to do this tomorrow on Romans 8:30.
Acts 2:36-41 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified." 37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" 38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself." 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
Heartwashed, what was the promise it refers to in verse 39.
Have a wonderful evening and God bless you,
Wayne
And this question, in this moment, is not primarily addressed to @WayneKCobb (kudos to him for wanting to answer it), but to @mailmandan.How do you deal with Acts 2:39 as it relates to Romans 8:30?

Act 2:39, For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Rom 8:30, Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Obviously, the conditional promise of Acts 2:38 is only given to those who are called. If you are never called, then you are not predestinated, and have not been and will not be justified.

Do you realize you are using one scripture to negate another scripture?!?!Did you believe that Jesus was God, when you first was Saved, before you got Water Baptized?
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved
Nowhere, is Water Baptism listed.
One of them negates grace though.Do you realize you are using one scripture to negate another scripture?!?!
Water baptism is mentioned as the moment in time for the remission of sins to those who confess Jesus as Lord.
Must we confess Jesus as Lord? Of course.
and
Must we believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead? Of course.
but to use these "must"s as the moment in time for the remission of sins is bogus.
The moment in time of the remission of sins is water baptism.
To take Romans 10:9 and label it as definitive and all-encompassing is poor logic.
I accept Romans 10:9 for what it is, a general statement of truth but it is clearly not written in the definitive.
It can not be used to debase the clear meaning of another verse. If Paul wanted this verse to be inclusive he could have simply worded it as such.
Romans 10:9 can not be used to change the meaning of Acts 2:38 nor can Acts 2:38 be used to disprove the meaning of Romans 10:9.
Neither are written in the definitive.
Neither is all-encompassing.
Neither contradict the other.
Which one?One of them negates grace though.
i have refuted your refutations.Your erroneous arguments have already been refuted multiple times, but sadly, you just don't have ears to hear.![]()
Faith is the vehicle of grace that brings salvation...Ephesians 2:8-9.Which one?
Because there is certainly grace involved in being baptized in the name of Jesus.
What about "the faith of the operation of God" (Colossians 2:12)?Faith is the vehicle of grace that brings salvation...Ephesians 2:8-9.
What about "the faith of the operation of God" (Colossians 2:12)?
The operation of faith is grace. Not of yourselves in Ephesians only leaves God.What about "the faith of the operation of God" (Colossians 2:12)?
The statment is; Counter to all those killed in the flood, baptism saves, gives eternal life."antitype" means "symbol".
The operation of God is baptism. The operation of faith is grace. Not of yourselves in Ephesians only leaves God.
