right ... but Lot was taken from Sodom and Abraham brought him back and restored all his possessions which had been taken ... which might be when Lot ended up in Sodom proper because initially when Lot and Abraham separated, Lot only pitched his tent toward Sodom. He didn't dwell in Sodom to begin with.

Genesis 13:12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.
.
what/who is he a picture of in this early event?

who chooses the ((outwardly)) best land and Who humbly lets them have it, knowing the end, theologically?

and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live
seeking to save his own life eh

something not entirely unlike whoever loses their life will find it, mmm?

:)
I can't quite put my finger on it...

but...

I have been looking at continuing to get my Scripture panels onto my thread for them...

And of course I like to have them in chronological order....

And every once in a while I come across one that I have abandoned for whatever reason...

Like this one, which has now come in handy for the Luke 17:32-33 verses .:whistle::giggle:

Still a work in progress...

Luke 17:32-33

Think about it this way...God says post...I'm taking you out of your town...don't look back. Do you honor God by obeying or disobeying His command? Is there another place in scripture where disobedience is considered to signify goodness on the part of the one disobeying?

of course no one has said that outright

but because every accusation brought against Lot's wife can be equally made if not moreso against
Lot too, it is a tacit implication that God is capricious if He saves lot but condemns his wife

why on earth would anyone say that outright lol

What, are we idiots?
Sometimes paraphrasing works and other times? Not so much.

Really it seems you rail against Scripture. You say Lot and his wife should have been
treated the same and yet God did not do what you would have had Him do. Because in
fact, they were not treated the same, and perhaps for the very reasons you argue against.

are you asking me why Lot is considered righteous?

Saying Lot's wife had no care for her life is not anywhere suggested in the text.

It seems to be one of those fanciful things you have imagined .:LOL:

But really what i am saying is if you forgive Lot please forgive his wife too

should we be judging at all
no ... we should be saying what God's Word says ... and especially about believers. it's easy to tear down ... it's also easy to build up ... don't know why we sometimes choose the tear down route. I believe Lot was like a lot of believers today ... we have believers who only want their toes wet ... we have believers who may go in up to their ankles ... their knees ... their waist ... their shoulders ... and then we've got the ones who dive in over their heads ... and I'm talking' about the river ...

this is again based on the idea she is not a complete idiot therefore she knew turning back towards Sodom was almost. certain physical doom but did so anyway.

Sure. Like people who doing anything bad for them know it is bad but do it any ways.

Almost as if... as if... as if they just can't help themselves .:whistle::whistle::whistle:

I harbour no ill will towards either .
but do you think either one is an absolute idiot?
Or do you look at this whole thing as if they are intelligent, Godly people who made reasoned, informed, free-will decisions?
