More Americans are Switching Religions

This title did not say "More Americans are repenting and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ apart from religion". Switching religions (probably meaning switching denominations or religious affiliations) is not the same as genuine conversions. And if this was based on a small sampling it is even more misleading.

No matter what we think of those big ministries ever talk ask them how many a "day" come to Christ? Yeah its thousands and thousands.. so it really depends just what you focus on. I wonder if people are not leaving the big cities and Churches going back to home Churches as it once was.

Yes that's what I thought,

I'm assuming that they switched religions to a none denominational faith.

But can you call any denomination of Christianity less of a religion than none denominational one.

Like you say the main focus is repentance for sins and believing in Christ even Catholics do that.

It sounds like an anti catholic video to me nothing more nothing less. Like you say very misleading

To be honest my friend he is dry so while yes there is no doubt he knows the word the issue is he is unaware of how dry the spirit is in him and I have attempted to explain this several times your sadly not going to go anywhere with him

You know what saddens me? this having church at home thing I have only been able to experience this once with other believers and it was just a bible study.

But I felt more at home and more receptive than in actual church so maybe the first church was on to something.

The mega churches while I cannot say all of them are the same is owned by many well known and famous pastors who are geberally seen as the typical money grubbing fame seeking preachers people talk about though I still think there is merit to them as I imagine if they have that many people attending surely God has a harvest in that field.

But really it is to much for me I love small churches it just seems like everyone is more connected more knitted together in them it isn't overwhelming and really the purpose of the church isn't to be bigger and better anyways is it?

Just a little bit about myself....Elijah is my favorite prophet. Loved his story since i was a kid.
Now you might ask whats elijah got to do with this.....glad you asked.
Remember when he and his assistant stood and looked at the sky and elijah spied a little dark cloud way off.
So far off i bet they had to squint to see it. .....anyways elijah took that as a good sign...the drought was over.
Now i dont care how many people were polled in this news cast, alot a few,,.how little how big
Are we not living in the days of elijah? Not that im comparing anything but this is my mindset.
Now scripture tells us that God will pour out his spirit over all of mankind in the last day.
How he does it and how long it will takes or all that is not mentioned.
This news cast to me is that little dark cloud. Maybe it would be best not to share some good news.
Maybe you all like the doom and gloom the enemy has conjured up. Who can say.
As for me i look for signs of hope. God stirring up people to seek is wonderful news.

I am going to be completely honest with you here As I was reading your post here when you mentioned your favorite prophet was Elija my spirit quickened I stopped reading at first right there exicted and saying to God oh ok this right here this is going to be good like I need to calm down here the spirit was just so excited in me.

once I continued reading everything you said the truth of it all how this is exactly what I have tried to get people see and how God has been training me in this as well the change that was made the activation you know the truth

And sadly yes any good news any essence of hope and truth is going to met with opposition. I have said it before that there is a spiritual war going on here in the forums remember we fight against the spirits not the flesh we are simply vessels in the chess game that God and the forces of darkness are playing.

Think about it for a second the spirit of your post the hearrt that you gave in doing so you likely didn;t even know you were being obedient to him in doing so it wasn't on a whim or by mere motivation you made this thread you instinctively heard him and obeyed.

Now consider the spirit of opposition that followed look past the words of the person and see the spirit behind them the heart and fruits of the words the enemy can use even us without us realizing it.

And you know I really think this video you posted in the op is imprtant to pay attention to. This new generation that is seeking the truth desiring genuine faith the real thing this spirit is rising in his body like a small hear beat I know this thing these new generation of believrs are going for I was sick of playing games tired of the constant confusion of doctrine scripture debates it is all such a mess all the denominations the division and the confusion as if that isn't enough evidence in itself that the enemy has done a good job at his endeavor after all a kingdom divided cannot stand.

But as @pottersclay said are not living in the days of elijah? Did he not say that he would pour his spirit on all flesh in the last days? Is it any wonder that some are coming to an understanding a new reality of him and the truth?

You see this right here is what the church is supposed be like. Honestly I wish we were just like first church yes there was some confusion and problems but for the most it was strong they built each pther up in faith and encouragement they taught the truth in spirit and not in carnal debates you had people so close together that the letters they wrote even in prison meant the world to them how they would die for Christ without backing down more than faith they were fearless

But even so God has called those who would heed the call to rise up and remember who we are as both believers in faith but also as representations of Christ even unto the church itself who has forgotten its first love.
