If you die before properly calling on the name of the Lord, do you go to heaven or hell (see Romans 10:13)?I die before being baptized.
Then what?
If you die before properly calling on the name of the Lord, do you go to heaven or hell (see Romans 10:13)?I die before being baptized.
Then what?
Answer my question. #151So, you are saying that Peter disobeyed Jesus; and therefore did not have the Holy Spirit.
That is certainly a revolutionary doctrine. We can just cut 1 and 2 Peter out of our Bibles then.
I will only say that Peter was not being disobedient to Matthew 28:19 when he baptized in Jesus' Name in Acts 2:38.If after I have baptised as Jesus said "in the name of the Father and of the Son and Holy Spirit" and not in the name of Jesus only and die then what?
Do you believe I'm going to hell.
Do you believe that the great commission given by Jesus concerning baptism should not be in the Bible.
Who was Peter addressing in Acts?
If you die before properly calling on the name of the Lord, do you go to heaven or hell (see Romans 10:13)?
Did you call on the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth; understanding that He is the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost (Colossians 2:9 (kjv))?Done this
Romans 10:8-13
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Also been baptised in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
So I am saved?
We all know the Baptism parts of Mark Chapter 16 and Matthew 28 were added later, according to Jerome, Church Fathers, in their claim the original Copy of Matthew was written in Hebrew, Jerome even translated it into one of his Series of Writing's. No mention of Baptism at all.Let's say I am baptised tomorrow according to what Jesus said.
Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
I then walk out of church and and get run over and die.
Am I goint to hell because I was not baptised in the name of Jesus only?
I will only say that Peter was not being disobedient to Matthew 28:19 when he baptized in Jesus' Name in Acts 2:38.
Then he was not being disobedient in Acts 2:38. See Acts 5:32.And yes Peter had the Holy Spirit in him.
I don't like the practice of taking anything out of God's word (see Revelation 22:18-19).We all know the Baptism parts of Mark Chapter 16 and Matthew 28 were added later, according to Jerome, Church Fathers, in their claim the original Copy of Matthew was written in Hebrew, Jerome even translated it into one of his Series of Writing's. No mention of Baptism at all.
Jesus did Not command to be Water Baptized.

This is Jerome's translation of Matthew in Hebrew.
There's several big differences.
Here is Matthew 28, notice Verse 19 and 20. This is how Jerome's claims Matthew ended the Hebrew Version.
Here is our Greek Version:
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We also have hand written Testimony of Jerome, who had access to the entire Collection of Materials, who claimed he personally has read it several times and this is what he said about the other Greek Versions.
Jerome (374-420 A.D.) claim to have seen the Hebrew gospel of Matthew, he said he had translated it and on several occasions he quoted from it (On Famous Men 2 & 3).
A much earlier writer, Papias, who was a disciple of John the apostle, stated that Matthew recorded the sayings of Jesus in Hebrew and everyone translated them as best he could (Eusebius, Ecclesiastical History III, 39, 16)
Big Difference in the Translation of the Hebrew here: Might be why Papias said they did their best hahahahahahaha
19 GO
20 and (teach) them to carry out all the things which I have commanded you Forever
and
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Show me where I said he was disobedient. Then he was not being disobedient in Acts 2:38.
But you said that he was disobedient;
and thus, you are contradicting yourself.
Could one say that he was being disobedient when he did not baptise the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit? Then he was not being disobedient in Acts 2:38. See Acts 5:32.
But you said that he was disobedient;
and thus, you are contradicting yourself.
Come on answer the question.I will only say that Peter was not being disobedient to Matthew 28:19 when he baptized in Jesus' Name in Acts 2:38.
To use a different formula than what Jesus commanded is an act of disobedience and dishonors the Lord Jesus Christ.
So, you are saying that Peter disobeyed Jesus (Acts 2:38).
Question, did Peter have the Holy Spirit?
See Acts 5:32.
See my post above.
Since the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost is "Jesus Christ" of course he was not being disobedient.Could one say that he was being disobedient when he did not baptise the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?
Therefore being baptised in the name of Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit is ok for those who have done and believe the following?Since the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost is "Jesus Christ" of course he was not being disobedient.
It is certainly not "folly" to confess Jesus Christ as ultimate Lord and Saviour. Therefore being baptised in the name of Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit is ok for those who have done and believe the folly?
I have already answered it (post #155).Come on answer the question.
Sorry had to edit.It is certainly not "folly" to confess Jesus Christ as ultimate Lord and Saviour.
