As an American and as a Christian I believe that the U.S. SHOULD welcome ALL who want to come on one condition; that they pledge their agreement that they will respect and abide by the U.S. Constitution rather than, for example, Sharia law or some other belief system.
historically, the US is about the most generous nation in the world in terms of immigration, but every civilized country in the world has immigration law. immigration is lawfully limited in number because people coming in to the country need time to find a place, a job, and hopefully assimilate. oh, and maybe even learn English.
my ancestors were immigrants. they didn't try to make this nation into the one they left.
if you don't like the law, you change it. you don't just ignore it.
speaking of Sharia, check out Dearborn in my home state of Michigan. i doubt it's the only place like it in the US, too. also, nobody's making any promises at either of our borders; they're just entering. hhhhhhhhhh!
