So I am very lonely and need a husband. I want someone to watch Disney movies with and take me to Target with credit card. Someone who makes a lot of money so that I don’t have to work. Also, he should be a virgin and be willing to stay virgin forever because I’m not interested in that.
Where is he? Where could my soulmate be?
Obviously a parody. But if a potential suitor or husband on the site hasn't been around enough to get the joke, you might be scaring him off.

Proverbs 31 already says that a good woman is hard to find.

That really makes me wonder about the state of Biblical era women, were they that bad? I am sure all of them were virgins when they married and were good with household duties, submissive, etc. What criteria is Solomon using? The Proverbs 31 woman is described as more of a manager, so she would be older. She is also industrious like a workhorse.
The 'trooper' woman.

Note that looks/external beauty is not mentioned once about the Proverbs 31 woman.
Beauty is fleeting.

Nor is there any mention of sex/marital duties. So, this makes me think she is a bit of an older/mature woman.
Not mentioning sex doesn't mean they don't have sex. It also says, "And her lamp does not go out by night. " My wife mentioned that as a possible sex verse. Not sure about that.

But we know Solomon appreciates external beauty; that's why he had a lot of wives and concubines.

In any case, I do think Proverbs 31 describes a role model wife.
Men may appreciate beauty in women, but it is certainly not the only thing, A physically beautiful woman could make a terrible wife if she is quarrelsome, like other Proverbs warn about, and if she doesn't have the charicteristics in Psalm 31.

I dunno... I'm reminded of an old controversial song about momma having a "squeeze box" (accordion, ostensibly) and how daddy doesn't sleep at night.

Does the Proverbs 31 woman even have a name, and why do people call her a woman. Shouldnt she be called Proverbs31wife?

Is anyone called that on Christian forums, or dont they dare...cos Im thinking she doesnt exist.

Oh she exists alright.

Down here in west Tennessee we call her Diane. Well... Most of us call her Diane. Uncle Stanley calls her Babe. I'll never get away with calling her that, and don't really want to, so I just call her Aunt Diane.

Making cloth at home isn't so common these days. But some wives have that sort of diligence.

I get what you're saying, but a lot of families don't fit into the traditional nuclear family with mom, dad and kids. Sometimes the dad isn't around and the woman has to work to provide for her kids. My grandma and mom did this. If society were to go back to only men working, would working men be willing to support single women and their children too? Would they take on the responsibility of not only their own wife and children but also all the single mothers and their kids too?
I think if we still had that kind of a society, the men would still be the kinds of men they were 100 years ago.
