Jesus didnt have a huge barley field or land to give to a bride. Boaz did. Jesus circumstances and times were a lot different to Boazes. Anyway, its more the kindness Boaz showed though Jesus would have just put Ruth up to stay and paid her to work maybe and given her a fair wage rather than have her glean his fields and marry her to have his children...perhaps.

Also evryone would have known Jesus wouldnt have touched a woman without her consent cos he was not that kind of guy

Jesus has far more to give than Boaz. Types are not meant to be perfect replicas but to convey truth. There is enough in the story to learn the lessons if you want to know or are sensitive enough to understand truth as it's set before you.
I have enjoyed the conversation and wish the best for you. Grace and peace.

Yea he wouldnt have married Ruth he would have just sent the rain on all the other fields so everyone could have barley and nobody would have died from starvation...and Ruth would have got to pick from any of the men SHE liked instead of being told to stay away from them. Also Naomi would have been put up as co owner of the fields and mother of all the workers.

They would have then made a bakery having barley bread loaves along with fresh fish from the lakes and rivers nearby and everyone would have got baptised there too. Then the inhabitants of Moab would have found out about it and all come from far and wide to learn the secrets of the thriving barley fields and rivers full of fish that never run out.

Much more to offer than Boaz eh.

Dude. You are beating your head against a brick wall here. She is impervious to logic.

I mean... From up here in the bleachers it's fascinating to watch you two go at it. I'm tempted to sell tickets, maybe take some side bets on how long you will hold out. But in fairness I have to tell you that it's hopeless. There's no way you will get through.

PESSIMIST: ok. I give up.
OPTIMIST: ok. So you're saying there's a chance.
OPTOMETRIST: ok. I don't see what either of you are talking about.

It's a fair point but I'm reminded of the story of the college student who frequently stopped by his dorm mate's room to share the gospel. One particular evening he asked his friend to pray to receive Christ. His friend refused but his friend's roommate who was present asked if he could. Who knows what the Lord might do?

Yeah that's what seoulsearch says a lot too. She's not going through it for the benefit of the person she's talking to, but for bystanders who might be reading the thread.

Still, after a certain point... It seems your head would get so sore you would quit. o_O

You didn't read the part where I said I had 8 kids? To be honest I'm just glad she didn't start...but why?

Naomi was looking out for Ruth. She understood the culture and the law and fostered Ruth's highest good.
Boaz, as kinsman redeemer, was a picture of Jesus. She figuratively led Ruth to Christ.
Agreed, there is a lot in that account that points to Christ. It’s a beautiful story of our adoption and redemption through Jesus 🙂

Boaz wasnt actually Christ though...

You dont know how Ruth felt about it all, Naomi was now happy, but did anyone ask Ruth how she really felt? Ruth just had Obed who was the (grand)father of David...Jesus was going to be born waaaay into the future.
What if Ruth had only had a daughter or couldnt have children. It would have been different huh

Few men marry their foreign employees though usually just use them as cheap labour. But kudos to Boaz that he had his eye on Ruth. Maybe there were no other female volunteer workers gleaning his fields

I wonder if Orpah got invited to wedding, or what happened to her.

Or maybe she changed her name to Oprah, became a popular talk show host, and became a billionaire?

I don’t want to get mixed up in the confusing dating world. I have many non negotiables and feel like a dinosaur, lol. But, I would like to find a like minded Christian to spend the rest of my life with. If God doesn’t send that my way I will learn to accept and embrace it. What has been your experience as an older person?
I've pretty much avoided dating for many years. As God guided my path, I chose to care for my 85 year old mom who recently passed at 93. The only dates that I've been on in 20 years were friends of friends who were introduced to me. This is my first time on a chat site. I don't know what to expect, and I have serious concerns about online communications. So, as an avid lover of learning, I'm attending college in August to enjoy Spanish and creative writing classes. I hope to learn enough Spanish to make my stay in South America easier next year. I may even try to teach English there. You're never too old to learn something new.

This isnt actually a chat site!
Its a forum...

Ive never chatted up anyone on here. I dont know what other christians are doing on here privately but Ive never seen it used as a dating site. If people are using it as one thats news to me. The ladies forum do not discuss what dates theyve been on from the men on the site.
