Non-believers are hilarious. "I don't believe in God, but I believe water will brainwash you!".
...of course magical water is a real thing; but GOD?!?! Lol.
Is that the case, though, or does hubby already think his wife is brainwashed? I go with the latter .:)

Well, I go with the former :p. (or, it's both)

I want to be baptized at my next opportunity at my church. Which is mid June. My husband for some reason feels “HE’S” not ready for that. His reason is he thinks it will change me to be even more “brainwashed”

Maybe they should give him a sample from the baptismal waters, so that he can test it for LSD ? It's the living water that sanctifies- that is what he is contending with and needs to worry about!

Even more brainwashed. Yeah... he thinks she is already.

Now you know why we're told not to be yoked to an unbeliever.

Follow your conscience that is Holy Spirit guiding you.

Find a church you like and be Baptized. You don't need your husband's permission.

God be with you.
She got married to him when they were both non beleivers from what ive read...her situation is quite difficult 🙏

Apparently it was not enough that I conceded it was both; It's not my fault I know how to read... or that I've encountered plenty of superstitious non-believers... or that I know the bible says "the fool in his heart says that there is no god", and that non-belivers' convictions tend to be relatively weak, causing them to be double-minded and contradict themselves...

Does my being mildly entertained at the stubbornness of unbelievers bother you? How would you prefer I felt about it?

some may come round but its really hard for the wife

Someone mentioned the movie The Case for Christ...it was at first a book...its a true story and that atheist/agnostic husband became a pastor!

I think it will be the children that may end up convincing their dad. Though Ive not had much luck with my parents, however they dont actively dislike Jesus or stop me from believing. My brother was terrible though I couldnt worship when I was staying at his place, (which was acutally not ALL it was in the family) couldnt have a Bible on the coffee table, just couldnt even mention anything about God so Im like ok I dont want to be part of this, and sold up my share and left him with the house that he doest even want to live in by himself.
But thats family not a husband-wife relationship. I suppose theres more at stake.

workplace relationships can be similar you can never be sure if your boss is a believer and you cant always choose who you get to work with.

I don't believe an atheist husband is saved because his wife is. There is no salvation by osmosis as it were.
That passage does not say the husband will be saved rather it does say they will be sanctified by the wife

But the atheist husband is not sanctified by the wife's faith. Jesus did not teach this.Nor did Paul.

The Holy Spirit is the dynamic of sanctification. Jesus said that he had to go away so that the Holy Spirit would indwell believers ( John 14:16-20 ). The "Holy" Spirit is so named not because he is more holy than the Father and the Son, but because his specific ministry vis--vis salvation is sanctification ( Rom 15:16 ; 1 Thess 4:3-4 ; 2 Thess 2:13 ; 1 Peter 1:2 ). The Spirit that inspired the Word of God now uses it to sanctify. Jesus, therefore, prayed concerning his own, "Sanctify them by the truth" ( John 17:17 ). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth ( John 16:13 ). The blessing of the new covenant is the presence of the Spirit ( Ezek 36:27 ; Gal 3:14 ).

If Mr Strobel had died as an atheist would he be judged worthy of Heaven due to his wife's faith?

You went with the former, you said. Then claimed it could be both.

But it is not possible to become more brainwashed if one is not already.

Ridiculing her husband as though he thought the water held magical powers did not help your position.

Maybe they should give him a sample from the baptismal waters, so that he can test it for LSD
Some of what you said was just plain ridiculous.

Okay, but even so, water will neither brainwash you, nor make you more brainwashed, even if you were brainwashed already.
Ridiculing her husband as though he thought the water held magical powers did not help your position.
How do you know he doesn't think the water has magical powers? Maybe he does. Regardless if it's magic or... whatever- there is obviously a conceptual error about baptism that they can explore together. An Adventure!

Or, maybe it's not... LSD cults are a real thing. Also an adventure, but not a good one.

Oh, Magenta! I just want women to feel empowered to boldly, with humility and love, challenge their husbands unbelief... I'm sorry that you do not want women to be empowered.

I did not comment on what he may or may not think, aside from the fact
that he already believes his wife is brainwashed, to counter what you said.

I admit I used one wrong word . I should have used through instead of by 1cor7 13-15.jpg

Through or by, it isn't actually true.

If an atheist husband dies right now at the feet of his Christian wife he is still a condemned sinner and unbeliever.
That scripture does not say the unbelieving is saved - it says sanctified.
I agree with your last sentence - if husband dies he is still condemned
.......
OP seems to be gone now
