Weren't you common law? Or no. Sorry, I may be getting your story facts a bit jumbled.
I had it wrote out but my phone tapped out so if I double sends I’m sorry.

but no not even common law with her. After someone does something it’s hard to regain trust. She lied, cheated, stolen from me to where I am nothing but numb to her.

I am a true cowboy at heart, and old fashioned in love to a degree.

I hate games, mind games, lying, cheating, and using.

I seen way too many people get hurt by it and it hurts like craz.

I have no felt any love towards her for over a year and a half.

she never saw my value, or even my heart. I love people, I don’t meet a stranger, and I do everything I can for them. I love God, I love writing for God even if He is the only One reading it because He knows my heart.

the child I helped raise who calls me dad is a lot like me and he is my son regardless of blood. Took him bowling movies u name it.
sorry to trail off but the topic of love hurts for me because I had been abused like someone that had gone to war coming out with burnt clothing.

I have to respectfully disagree here... I don't see where Jesus specified whether He's referring to believers or unbelievers in Matthew 19:9. It actually says whosoever.

Matthew 19:9 “ And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. ”
You are right even the unbelievers are not exempt from God’s law

Before it is asked by someone else the child I raised was not hers. he belongs to a great friend I knew in high school.

he now wears his cowboy boots and has a great heart.

Divorce has been discussed in quite detail in this thread.

https://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/divorce.208624/

I think being single is the safe route, getting married opens up huge risks, and this world ain't exactly friendly. lol

All my life I thought differently, fought to stay true to myself, and being single is definitely in line with my current thinking. I think many times people are conditioned to think marriage is the next step in their lives, when maybe there are other paths, that are more suitable.

Best of luck!

do you find people tend to question you a lot on why you arent married.
What do you say to them

Children used to ask me sometimes if I was married or had a husband but only cos they were curious, though one boy seemed like he was gonna take pity on me lol

At church its the married elders who might ask but generally I dont have to explain myself. I would imagine its an awkward/painful question for a divorcee to answer though. But they have to be honest...epecially if they have children. Cant just hide them away and say oh they not mine. Though probably some divorcees do that.

The other thing with divorcees is the judge has decided which parent gets custody or visiting rights and I find that confusing, say if one parent abused the other, and now they on their own wouldnt there be MORE chance of that parent abusing their minor children when the other parent isnt around? I dont understand that. But in most societies, if someone commits adultery or whatver, that guilty party doesnt get stoned or put in marriage jail, they somehow get off with just a restrainng order.
