“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
(pauls conclusion )
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.”
1 Corinthians 11:23-32
soften we hear things we don’t already believe about a subject like this.
maybe you have never considered communion to have any real significance to our faith but does scripture like this suggest that it’s an important matter to us who believe ?
alive heard a lot about how communion and baptism at irrelevant rituals but are we supposed to dismiss what the Bible teaches us things mean ? Or are we supposed to hear what it says things mean and believe and act in that belief ?
maybe taking communion would mean something if we heard what scripture says it means to believers in Jesus dying for our sins ? Giving his body and blood which he said to do something in remembrance of him until he returned just before he gave his life for us
maybe if we were more strict to making sure what scripture says about each subject we would understand it better and have more complete faith ?
Just a consideration maybe things like communion and baptism mean what the Bible says they mean to us , and if we began to believe what we learn those things mean our faith would grow a lot
maybe communion is important maybe baptism is important and maybe the Bible makes it really clear
