There is no doubt that over the last twenty years, we have seen immense and impressive changes to our lives.

We have incredible medical advances, space travel, melting ice caps, instant worldwide communication.

A vast array of wonders to some extent.

2 Thessalonians 2:9
That is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and false signs and wonders.

I am not a adherent to any view in eschatology but I was wondering, if we may be moving into an end times era?

There are verses in Revelation that could not have been fulfilled twenty years ago. But can be fulfilled within the next twenty years.

What do you think about the amazing advancements in this extraordinary age?

Technological and scientific advancements are not signs, wonders, and miracles. The former are all based on natural laws, whereas the latter are all supernatural. At the same time we are indeed living in the end times or "the latter days" because of the increase in apostasy, demonic activity, and worldwide tyranny.

Luke 21:25-26
There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting from fear and the expectation of the things that are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

This is an entirely different issue. These are the cataclysmic COSMIC EVENTS which immediately precede the Second Coming of Christ. As God said He will shake the heavens and the earth.

Not exactly. They are SIGNS heralding the Second Coming of Christ. Please note that that is exactly what they are called: "There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars". On the other hand "signs, wonders, and miracles" apply to miracles performed while the Gospel was preached.

Yes we are there,many of the things in revelation which would have seemed very strange are a common occurrence these days. Heres one such thing.

Revelation 11:5

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.

Now who would have thought 2000 years ago fire coming out of someones mouth would be as simple as a fire command.

Fire commands are oral orders issued by leaders to focus and distribute fires as required achieving decisive effects against the enemy. They allow leaders to rapidly and concisely articulate their firing instructions using a standard format (Refer to TC 3-20.31-4 for more information).


And wouldn't you know it.After a fire command is given,Fire comes down from heaven .

Revelation 13
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

I believe where in end times yes I believe the sun will strip away our atmosphere and do to earth what it did to mars and it's going to happen in our life time.

But do I care, no it's going to happen anyway.

It's like we've advanced beyond feeling a need for God in our lives?

I'd say that's fair. This world is deeply strange of late.

Technological advances may allow the false prophet and the beast to perform false sign and wonders. However, the false signs and wonders scripture talks about are for a specific purpose: to lead people away from the truth to the worship of false gods and false prophets. The technological advances themselves aren't the false wonders.

That would be one way to understand the fire from heaven.

Another would be nuclear fusion, that's the process that lights the stars.

Yet another, would be a supernatural fire that appeared with both Soloman and Elijah.

The false prophet get's people to worship the IMAGE of the beast.

What is that image or statute?

I agree.

The older you get, the more strange the world becomes.

Your dead right about modern folk having no desire for God, they are too pre-occupied with their own lives.

And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause all who do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

It's the image that is worshiped.

I think we better find out what that image is. Otherwise, we may end up worshiping the image of the beast without realizing. Especially so, given that we may well be within earshot of the end times.

:cry: I just searched for his cause of death. Turns out Mr. Springer died from an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. He and his family had chosen to keep his battle out of the news.

So sad.
