Hi, all. Very much looking forward to meeting friends within my age range to discuss various topics relating to the Bible. I'm in my late 40's, living in the eastern part of the US, and I love conferring with others and having discussions surrounding faith. I know a bit about many Christian traditions: Baptist, Pentecostal, Messianic Believers, Sabbatarians (7th Day Adventist and other traditions), Catholic, and Church of Christ. I'm very interested in topics such as Identity in Christ, Biblical angels, the Sabbath (4th Commandment), the Lord's Supper, the heptadic code, and the perfection of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17). I love the following pastors/authors: Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Michael Heiser, Dr. Tony Evans, and Dr. Billy Graham. Oldies but goodies: Charles Spurgeon, C.S. Lewis, Smith Wigglesworth, William Branham (Azusa Street). Looking forward to friendship because "iron sharpens iron". ;)

Sad to hear that brother Charles Stanley died the other day, but He is in a better place now.

Your background sounds like mine. Been to many churches are heard many things. I ended up in a local Mennonite church. They are good for sharpening iron with. Look forward to seeing your posts.

I like listening to kari55 when I can, and often have it on at work through an older phone so
I can keep my new phone at the ready for work matters without disconnecting from the internet
to do so. They have a variety of Christian teachers and expositors, and are available online as well
as carried by various radio stations. I also listen in my car and at home. They are 24/7 except for
infomercial Saturday, and they do also carry foreign language programs on the weekend.

Hi there, Honestly, I was heartbroken he passed away. I know he is definitely with Our Lord, but it is sad that a genuine light has left the world.

I know very little about Mennonites, but I am intrigued.

Thanks for asking about the h-code. It has to do with the appearance of the number seven in the Bible. In ancient Israelite culture, the number seven was considered a sign of the fullness of God or the utter perfection of God. It's interesting because the number SEVEN appears in the Bible over and over, "the seven days of creation" (the seventh being the day He rested from everything good He had made), "seven lampstands" in Revelation, "seven spirits of God", "the seventh year of Jubille" (Deuteronomy), "the seven feasts" or Jewish holidays, which Jesus would have celebrated), etc. It appears over and over, and it is symbolic of the Perfection of God. The Bible scholar, Dr. Chuck Missler, has material on this oddity/providential number. I've heard quite a few pastors talk about it as well. There are other numbers too, which appear to have some significance. It's just an interesting fact that fascinated me when I first heard about it! ;)

Although the Mennonites have tacked on a few of their own traditions and heritage, they are very good on the core fundamentals. The key is for them to keep the two separate. Only then can they be useful tools in the hands of the Lord for evangelism.

Yes, seven is interesting indeed. I have also heard of it being referred to as being the number of completion. Do you believe that the Millennial Reign of Christ will be the 7th millennium of Earth time that ushers in the Final State (New Heaven and Earth and New Jerusalem come down out of Heaven)?
