It’s the testament that’s different not the God old testament law and prophets
Exodus 19:7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him. 8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken
we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
Hebrews 8:8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt;
because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Matthew 5:32
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Laws Concerning Divorce
Deuteronomy 24:1-4 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. Deu 24:4 Her former husband, which sent her away,
may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD:
and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
Jeremiah 3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again?
shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
Released from the Law
Romans 7:1 Know ye not, brethren,
(for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Rom 7:2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth;
but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
Rom 7:3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress:
but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another,
even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Faithless Israel Called to Repentance
Jer 3:6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there
hath played the harlot.
Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby
backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away,
and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
Jer_50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.
Matthew 10:6
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said,
I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Luke15:4
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luk_15:6
I have found my sheep which was lost.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
Joh 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Joh 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Joh 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
Joh 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father
What does it mean to be UNDER
THE LAW? We are now FREE TO REMARRY OUR FIRST HUSBAND AND TO KEEP "WE WILL DO" Exodus 19:8 All that the LORD hath spoken WE WILL DO.
John_14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Exo_20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them
that love me, and keep my commandments.
Deu_5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them
that love me and keep my commandments.
Don't you know that those who heard Jesus speak and say "If you love me, keep my commandments", that He was telling all those present, Jews and Gentiles, that He is the LORD God of the Old Testament.
John_14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deuteronomy 6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
Matthew 23:2 Saying,
The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
And don't you know that those who heard Jesus speak and say "observe and do", that He was telling all those present, Jews and Gentiles that He is the LORD God of the Old Testament.
Deuteronomy_6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38
This is the first and great commandment.
This First Commandment sets the tone for the first four commandments, which can be summarized as, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:5). Jesus Christ called this summation the great commandment (Matthew 22:37-38).
In my estimation, the above is the Good News. The Gospel. If any beliefs contradicts the written WORDS, by the one who IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND THE WORD WAS GOD. (John 1:1) Joh_1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created all things.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
This is who the LORD of the Old Testament is to me. He is the God who loved us so much, that He knew from the beginning He was punish and correct us, but He also desires us. When I read His love story, I want to please Him and do those things that show how much I care for Him.
Not everyone will understand, because they have been blinded by the god of this world who decieves the whole world, even the elect, if possible.
