If signs a wonders do still exist they're doing a good job of concealing themselves. Everyone always says there are true signs and wonders and false; but when it comes time for the rubber to meet the road, the true signs and wonders never seem to materialize, at least not where everyone can see. When Jesus and the apostles performed signs, everyone saw it and the news of it spread like wildfire. Nowadays "true" signs and wonders stay stealthily hidden, except to a few folks who already believe.
I am no cessationist.....but yea pretty much.
God is working providentially and every second of every day in the life of believers regardless. Whether we recognize it or not.

It's easy to mock and insult untruth. Jesus wasn't too kind with the money changers, or with the scribes and Pharisees. Are you performing miracles or do you just speak incoherent gibberish as do most that claim they have the gifts of the Spirit?
That's too bad you result in insults. I did not see the word " gibberish " in the Clear words of the Bible. What have I witnessed?
I would love to tell you, all about them. You go first? FYI I am not A " Performer," Jesus said, Matthew 16:4
"A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed ."

I'm Not Like those who ask for one to do a miracle for proof; you know, modern-day Pharisees, that is not me. I walk to a different word from Jesus; maybe you know it?

It's in the clear word of God.

Mark 16:17-18

17And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

I can't wait to hear all the things you have done for the Lord.

God bless you :)

Do you consider the apostles' prayer to be reprehensible?

Acts 4:30
By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
Did you pray for signs and wonders? No one is praying in that verse. It is a statement.

Do you have a problem with praying to be filled by/with the Holy Spirit or seeking Jesus?

Where does Paul say to pray for signs and wonders? Oh wait. He doesn't.

Childish

β€œA wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them and departed” Matthew 16:4

Maybe that is because you don't want to see them? Do you pray for sick people? Do you visit hospitals? Do you go to the homeless and addicted and share Jesus with them How many people has God saved from your action in proclaiming the Gospel? Do you Obey the Lord doing the Great Commission? How many Mirecles would you need to see to agree they are real today? 1? 100? What kind of healing do you need to see? Blind eyes open, or cancer healed? You just hate, and your own very life has no works for God, so you attack those who say they do. Thats mature. Or were you hurt by someone who abused the gifts of the Holy Spirit? That is a very terrible thing I agree it happens too. Can you provide me one scripture that says the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for today, and Just because you have not seen it does that mean the word of God is not true?

There was no real response to the Biblical truth we have all provided to a few here who keep asking for performance. As if God needs their validating His ability today to heal through HIS church. Just notice the lack of Biblical refuting to what many of us have said.

I asked one to tell us about what God has done in their life he has not yet even said anything, just scoffing and mocking. I provided many scriptures to support my Biblical understanding in Post 30. They made only attacks and name calling like mature children :) let them be.
That is what happens when people do not believe scripture or just choose what they are personally comfortable with and then dare anyone to interrupt their slumber. I am sure you know that as does everyone else here that have received the Gift given on the day of Pentecost.

I mean they seem to want to believe in a god who died in a dust storm in outer space but left behind a book of laws and rules that only the self righteous can faithfully obey because they worship religion rather than God Who Is.

4 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. II Cor. 3: 4-6

Thank you I will accept that life from God through His Spirit. We have a covenant with God through the blood of His Son and not the law written in stone, but now in our hearts. We love Him because He first loved us.

I think some actually hate the Holy Spirit and do not even realize it. How else can a person be so hateful towards what they appear not to have?

Yes, and we need to pray and leave them to the Lord :)

Yes and that is very sad for you. So easy to mock and insult. But that is not what I asked you. I can see you have the usual gift of ignorance and superstition concerning the work of the Holy Spirit so no need to confirm it.

What I actually asked you, was this: Where in the Bible do the clear words tell you to mock and insult?

There is no problem with asking questions or being honestly unconvinced or ignorant of what scripture states. People who mock like you are doing are afraid (God forbid they should speak in tongues. TOO proud to do that), have lost their fear of God or believe God is as small as they are.

There are no words in scripture that teach us to do what you are doing. The scribes and pharisees have nothing to do with this conversation. Do you identify with them?
Tongues was an inferior gift. Tongues was a sign to unbelievers. Tongues ceased as did all gifts per 1 Cor 13:8. Why would I desire this? Why is this needed today unlike it's need in biblical times? Wake up! You've been deceived.

How many times did the religious Jews tell Jesus to prove Himself?

Even on the Cross, they said, if you really are the Son of God then come down from there and prove yourself.

People who spend time seeking signs WILL NEVER FIND THEM. But on the flip side, People who are about doing the WILL of God will SEE signs after signs.

Maybe spend less time on the internet destroying things you dislike and begin doing God's Will and maybe He will reward You with things that only could be from God alone doing them...

Tongues ceased as did all gifts per 1 Cor 13:8.
Lol... you don't read too well.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Only three gifts are mentioned, and nowhere in Scripture does it state that any gifts will cease with the completion of the canon of Scripture.

Use your head. These are examples. All gifts have ceased since they were manifested by the laying on of the apostle's hands, all of which have been dead for a long time.

Yep. Tongues WERE a subordinate gift. The gift of prophecy "speaking forth" was noted as the more valuable gift.

1Co 14:5
I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be strengthened.

1Co 14:22
So then, tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.

Again, my experience trumps your misinterpretation.

I'm not seeking signs; nor am I asking anyone to prove anything. I'm just pointing out that the evidence for true signs and wonders is nonexistent. The Pharisees knew Jesus performed miraculous signs because it was obvious to everyone: "This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, 'Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.' " John 3:2 The Pharisees couldn't deny Jesus cast out demons; they had some strange theories about how He did it, but they knew he was performing miracles.

If people want to play make believe and think they can perform miraculous signs more power to them. Just don't expect me to play along.

There are "hints" that this may be in fact be the present state of affairs. But far from being Biblically proven beyond doubt.

Agree, and likewise, we no longer need prophesy either since we now have the complete word of God.

The thing is......legit signs and wonders ARE MEANT TO BE SEEN. Their very function and purpose is that men might behold God's glorious power and believe on Him. In fact, the miracle of healing a leper was codified in the law to be duly witnessed AND RECORDED by the priest. The NT fact of which was meant as a loving outreach to the priests to bring them to faith. Which many did BTW.

Secret miracles just do not cut the mustard IMO.

Great. I asked you previously to delineate your experience to which you responded with a dumb, sarcastic remark. So once again, what EXACTLY have you experienced? Have you performed miracles? Have you miraculously healed someone? What? If you or someone you know or have witnessed doing such, why are there still ill people on hospitals all over the world? Why aren't you or they healing everyone? I know why: it's nonsense, that's why. You can't nor can anyone else!

Future telling is done and over. No doubt about that in my mind.

This is not that. It is "speaking forth" the Word of God.

1Co 14:3
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and consolation.

It is separating fact from fiction, truth from untruth. So yes; untruth must be challenged, and thus, it's getting us somewhere by not being silent.
