you did not read the scriptures i told you. if you did, you would see that a priest can not forgive sins. we can't stand together when people are believing in what God said not to believe in. many differences between catholics & Christians. no, not arguing with you, my aim is amicable. thank you for your willingness to be peaceful.
Thank you for agreeing with different but same one true belief in Jesus Christ our Savior. I realized this morning after reading through the Holy Order of the Mass. What I went back and read on the quotes you stated. They are all basically included in the Eucharistic celebration of the Catholic Mass. I always go to confession not wanting a priest to forgive my sins. They are as you say a person. They are though after praying with you able to help me realize more what Jesus needs me to do. Jesus says "sin no more." Do any of us live up to this. I for one know I can't live up to His demand for me. I feel this is when the sin of pride sets in. Yes the priest or minister then may be able give us more insight into were we need to be with God!! We all need help to fight as the end continues to close in, Amen!!!!!

Nice to meet you and thanks for sharing your experience. I would suggest you seek guidance from male figures in your church or counsellors. Treat your wife as the person she is, your wife. With prayer from you and friends, I'd be praying for restoration out of this state she's in. Standing on Mk 11:23-24, ask your desires and believe w/o doubting and you will receive them'. This is God's promise. God bless and I pray the Holy Spirit guide you through this🙏 and your wife is healed!
I like what you are saying. I though worry about leaving her to long. Most of the day even once she wakes up the doors must be locked. She worries about someone could get in. Mark 11: 23&24 seemed odd to what you were saying about cures. Then reading it twice I got out of it the riches of life are better than the riches of money. That is what we all get when we seek God's help, Amen!!!!!

& here's another thought: why would someone have to go to church to have their sins forgiven? Christians ask Jesus any time, any where to have their sins forgiven. Jesus never gave a "requirement" to have sins forgiven (in this context).

True yet sometimes I feel like there is something missed out. Don't we all listen to what others tell us before we confront God. A spiritual advisor like a priest or minister may say to us what God put in our mind. The brain though through the ears hears it and accepts it easier. We all need to truly confront our sins how we feel best to resolve our sins. Jesus is the ultimate answer however we get His communication. For me it helps having a spiritual advisor who knows my feelings. It sounds as for you God acts for you as a spiritual advisor in your mind. I need voice and you need wisdom from God. Truthfully one in the same!!!

Welcome to CC, brother Kevin. Not married but did take care of dad at home in the end. He was out of His head due to meds. Can be tough to cope at times. I will pray for you. (y)

Jesus is my spiritual advisor. yes, listen to people talking to you but always examine what they say. 1st John teaches discerning the spirits. for people who are married, they're spouse can be a spiritual advisor. the 2 became 1! voice? yes, the H.S. has spoken to me in my mind & thru my voice. the voice you need should be that of the H.S.

Thanks for the prayers. It true medicine used for dementia are very dangerous. They don't really help. They just calm down those taking them to the point of were they have no clues of what is really around them. That is why in my situation we are working together as a team to pull my wife our of her issues with God!

Her psychologist is not sure. She had a relapse about 5 years ago and spent a week in a mental hospital. She has since just gotten really quiet and just wants to spend most of her day on couch. She does on occasions enjoy helping with daycare of our grandson. She loves to eat though I must repair most meals. She feels she doesn't know how to cook any more. Yet she knows all the recipes I use and tells me what to do if I have a question. As for another woman that is what I worry about myself. I pray continually though God has some plans for us to be able to enjoy live together again, talk , and enjoy getting out together again. On Catholics we are Christians who believe in Jesus as and do accept in to our lives as our Lord and Savior. We also believe we can pray to others who have journeyed on earth and made it to heaven called Saints. Plus most importantly Jesus is present every time in the celebration of the Mass which is to be a representation of Jesus life on earth especially the Last Supper. That is why we center the Mass around the Holy Eucharist . Sorry being a Born again Catholic is really exciting to me!!!!! One other thing on my wife the psychologist said with her mental illness right now it is hard to test for dementia. So we are both working on and praying 🙏 she stabilizes and opens up some. Thank you for bearing with me here I enjoy running my mouth if I get a chance. Plus if I down lap is it always free to chat. I deal in cash only and occasionally use my debit card in physical stores.
Sounds like she is deeply depressed. I will pray that she experiences the joy of the Lord and thereby gains the strength and motivation that is necessary for a happy life and relationships. Remind her often that you love her and that Jesus loves her.

Nehemiah 8:10
“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

P.S. Some churches can be cold and neglect to emphasize that Jesus desires a personal relationship and communion with each of us on a personal basis. A cold church can be worse than no church at all.

Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

That is what I like about our church ⛪️ it has vibrant priest and every is very friendly. We still offer a sign of peace to others. Just not really physically touching. Please the quotes are very helpful. They make me see how my work will definitely pay off.

Let us walk down the rest of this road together, dear brother. I would be delighted for your company...
Luke 24:
13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

obtw, what does this "sign of peace" consist of?

The sign of peace used to consist of hand shakes, pat on back, and even hugs by nearby members or possibly the pastor/ presiding minister. Now I only hug my wife. I like most members wave, make eye contact, and smile with others now. It is a beautiful jester just before communion/ Lord Supper. Which brings to think of the verses above. We all burn all day long for Jesus who is really walking next to us all the time. Oh how marvelous!!!!

are you really listening to God? I was raised Catholic I know what He thinks of mass and the "eucharist"

I am not questioning your new birth, I know many Catholics get saved but somehow stick with that old religion

.... I couldn't

It would be frustrating to God if He were speaking to you but you were not listening.

I feel God and me have a great relationship. I attend mass nearly everyday be it by internet, through taking time to celebrate the mass in my home by doing the readings of most of theMass, or attending in person. I go to Eucharistic Adoration least once a week and take time to pray daily to God and a lot of the saints to intercede in prayer for me. You may not have understood the concept I am relating to. I feel there is a lot of Catholics who just go to mass and don't realize to live like the saints they must live a holy and devoted life to Jesus. We can't just set around and say being Catholic I will go to heaven. Jesus tells what to do. We must live our life for Him and show others His way to live. I probably as St Paul has said have along way to go. I will continue though to follow my Catholic faith as Jesus directs me daily!!! Amen!!!!!

Amen!!!!![/QUOTE KEVINStewart, saints can not intercede for anyone. Please read 1st Timothy 2:5- "for there is 1 God & mediator between God & men, the man Jesus Christ". a mediator is an intercessor, 2 different words, same function. Hebrews 12:24- "and to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, & to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Able". notice mediator IS SINGULAR. hebrews 9:15- 'for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the 1st testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance". notice "Jesus the mediator" is singular again. hebrews 7;25- ".....seeing He ever liveth to make intercession". He-singular. there is not a single verse in the Bible teaching to pray to saints, maybe in the catholic bible but that's not God's Bible. you said, 'we must live our lives for Him", you are correct. for Jesus ONLY, no saints, not Mary or any other propped up figure. i really hope you are not led astray anymore. i'm not trying to argue either. please see the truth of God & not the catholic religion! i want to let you know i'm peaceful in my speech, not argumentative

You are very interesting person Karlon. I feel we have a lot of similar beliefs. I do see your point Jesus is the only answer as our Savior. A food for thought for you: Jesus when critics tried to catch Him in blasphemy said didn't God say we are god's to an extent. I feel Jesus meant we are to use God/ Jesus only as our true intercessor. We can though always look to others who beame before us for some helpful tips and knowing the were saved could just be putting in good words for us in Heaven. I had a really close friend who recently died. I prayed to Jesus the Divine Mercy Chaplet for her. She thanked me immediately saying she made to Heaven. Since my life has been different. It is possible she is asking God to take away burdens. Then again as you saying Jesus is just interceding on His own. You know we ourselves never know what goes on. I think you are really helping me to grow. Have you ever listened to MOR music app. It is a Christian radio station here in my area. Check it out especially Dr. Mark Rutland's podcast you seem to be very like him.

yes, we certainly can ask others to pray. but i want to mention just 1 more thing about the "mary" intercessor issue: praying to a dead person is actually a sin; it's called necromancy. i'm quite positive Mary is in heaven but we are not allowed to pray to people who have passed; they can't hear us. have a good night, talk to you again.

I once in the 90s considered joining a local RC because there was a Charismatic priest, a Canon no less, well thought of by even the Pentecostals.

The night before I was to attend mass and partake their communion for the first time since teenage years I had a most remarkable dream. As though watching a video, so clear.

I saw a priest, not just any priest but that very priest the Canon, he was dressed in his black suit, his suit though black emanated shekinah glory [I have often seen the shekinah] he was holding a chalice and walked toward me reaching into the chalice he drew forth a host.

I turned and fled, I was not in any fear but never-the-less I climbed through a window and fled across the fields.

I did attend mass the next day and when it came to the place where the priest lifted up the host in front of the congregation and declared "THIS is the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world....... " I knew it was my dream

As quietly as I could I got up and stepped over the now kneeling people and walked out.

I obeyed the scripture "little children flee idolatry"

I hope you will listen, you do not like for your wife to blank you out, stop blanking God out.
