You seem to be missing the point. To Russia NATO is the aggressor, NATO inches closer to the Russian border.

It is obvious to the objective eye that USA - Military Industrial Complex is seeking a regime change... and it is not the first time, and of course there is always tons of profits made by the war machine along the way.

Wake up!
You are blinded by Russian propaganda. If NATO wanted war, why has it been allowing its military to decline over the decades since the USSR collapsed? The UK is a shadow of its former military power, Germany is a bit of a joke, France is "would be if we could be...." Poland is one of the few nations that has strengthened its military and has developed a spine to go with it.

I do not believe one word that comes out Putin's mouth, any more than I do Xi's. They are cut from the same cloth. They'll say anything to conceal the truth. Russia is becoming a Chinese colony. Xi is smarter than any Western leader and is using Russia for his own purposes. He watches while the West exhausts its munitions. Will he use the weakness of the West to attempt an invasion of Taiwan? I would not be surprised. Russia has handy seaports in that region. They are close to Japan and could provide handy bases from which to attack Japan.

Europe has had enough of war, as has America. It's doubtful that America could defeat China in the Pacific, so Taiwan may well be left to defend itself. The ramifications for world trade are enormous. And that, I suspect, is the only thing that keeps China in check.

it seems as if america wants escalation....
If America wanted escalation, it would be supplying long range missiles that could strike well inside Russia's borders. It would also supply modern aircraft that could take the attack inside Russia. It is doing neither. It is a sore point with Ukraine. America is going out of its way to avoid escalation. Of course, never let the facts get in the way of your conspiracy theories. America has 50,000 troops based in Poland. Escalation would be simple. Send them to the front lines and over the border into Russia.

Care about his nation? He's a megalomaniac. Anyone who dares say one word against him is in prison. His obscenely rich buddies have a habit of falling out of windows, dying from poison or a similar fate. Calling the invasion a war is a crime. Putin simply cares about Russia's reputation, which he trashes by the minute.

When protestors engage in violence and break the law, they get an appropriate response. I live here, I have a reasonable idea of what goes on. We have our own groups who want to destroy society for their own ends, both left and right. The government uses these events to impose more draconian laws and restrictions.

Maybe Australia will be a Chinese colony in a few years. That would not surprise me. If Putin is allowed to succeed, China may be emboldened to attack the pacific nations. It worked well for Japan, albeit briefly. China is a different proposition.

I believe that America's days as the world power are nearly over. If you are fond of Russia, I suggest you go live there for a while.

Since America is now practically a Communist state, why go to Russia? Russia moved away from Communism because it was a total failure, but American Commies want a totalitarian state with anarchy to boot. Putin is not working to destroy Russia but Biden is certainly hard at it and committed to the destruction of America.

The megalomaniacs were the Australian public officials and police who, during the plandemic, laid down the worst beating/intimidation/terror regime upon the hapless citizenry of any western nation.

Only China exceeded the nutter Aussies in terms of insanity, human rights offenses and stone cold brutality.

Australia was not so bad once. Now....its is on the no fly list.

BTW.....Putin hates the oligarchs. He cut them a deal, allowed them to keep their ill-begotten loot (and their lives) if they stay out of politics.

You are blinded by Russian propaganda.
And which propaganda has blinded you?

Who do you think runs NATO?

I suggest you brush up on your history, these are the facts. Anyone with a smidgen of objectivity can see NATO changed from a defensive alliance to an aggressor.
Along with all the broken promises the USA made to Russia.

Gorbachev attempted to peacefully dismantle the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, he sought assurances from the U.S. that NATO would not expand into the areas the Soviets were vacating.
James Baker, President George H.W. Bush’s secretary of state, told Gorbachev not once but three times that wouldn’t happen. “Not an inch of NATO’s present military jurisdiction will spread in an eastern direction,” Baker promised.
NATO’s goals have expanded along with its territory.
Instead, in 1999 NATO incorporated the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary, a big chunk of what had been the Warsaw Pact. Then in 2004 Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia, more of the Warsaw Pact, joined, along with Latvia and Lithuania, which had actually been part of the Soviet Union. Other Eastern European countries followed, bringing NATO’s current membership to 30.

This proxy war between USA and Russia has been a long time in the making.

NATO is not a nation or a government. It's a club. Countries request to join. Those nations that have no ability to defend themselves may well prefer to have the protection of other nations. Tell me exactly what aggression NATO has shown to Russia. Russia promised not to invade Ukraine. Russia has invaded Georgia (twice), South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Transnistria, Chechenia (twice), Dagestan, Ukraine twice plus other minor conflicts. NATO has attacked Russia how many times since NATO was founded? How much of Russia has NATO illegally occupied? That is the reality.

Putin started out OK. So he gave previously state owned business to his backers and made them filthy rich while average Russians muddled along. At least people got to vote. Now nearly every Putin critic is either dead or imprisoned. Putin has entrenched his power in just the same way as Lenin or Stalin.

I advise every critic of NATO and the West generally to go live in Russia. Maybe your anti Western bias will get a reality check.

You live here in Australia? You walk our streets and talk with our people? Whose no fly list are we on? America's police beat individuals to death in the street. Call 911 to report a crime and maybe you will get shot yourself. We have our bad eggs, but nothing like the USA.

You allow children to go to school with a gun and shoot people. You allow a psycho to buy 47 guns and unlimited ammunition. Then you defend his rights. Sure, the right to mass murder kids and defenceless adults. America needs to turn every school into a fortress to keep out those she supplies with military grade weapons. All because of an obsession with guns. "In God We Trust"? I don't think so.

The stupidity of all this is that most Americans don't own a gun. So the minority get to make America unsafe for the majority. And you call Australia insane?

Hello HeIsHere! One issue might be that the US cannot give that assurance. NATO has been expanding as many newly democratic Eastern European countries apply to join. The reason often given is that they feel threatened by Russia. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has prompted Finland and Sweden to apply for NATO membership. If Putin invaded Ukraine because he was threatened by NATO expansion he has shot himself in the foot because his action has prompted Finland and Sweden to join. Finland has also been attacked by Russia in living memory, the 1939 Winter War. God Bless You

You live here in America? You walk our streets and talk with our people? ...

You have your "bad eggs" - we have ours.

What you need to understand - and remember - and never forget - is that the problems in both countries (and, every other country as well) is being caused by the same group of evil men - the modern widely-accepted term is 'deep state' - and, ultimately, Satan. It is not 'guns' or anything else in particular - in every country, whatever 'concerns' exist there that may be used against the people and for the New World Order is being "utilized to the maximum" in order to bring about a world-wide government system.

Turning every school into a fortress is not the correct solution. There are many facets. The real problem must be dealt with. In a way, the school system itself is actually responsible - we allowed it to be taken over and used to "brainwash" our children into thinking they were using 'critical thinking' while actually being trained to do the very opposite - made to think that they were 'smarter' while actually being 'dumbed down'.

Americans who own guns - in general - ultimately - make America more-safe-not-less. And, if you do not understand why this is true - then, perhaps, you should not speak too loudly against it before you discover why this is true.

Then why did they?
Only The US Government could answer that. I would guess that they detected in Gorbachev a reasonable and humane man. Whereas in Putin the USA and many Eastern European Countries perhaps detect someone who is not reasonable or humane. God Bless You :)

Your logic is absurd. More safe? Guns are readily available in Australia. They are well regulated and military grade weapons not permitted. Parents send their kids to school without fear that they won't be coming home.

Australian kids are just as dumbed down and brainwashed by woke agendas as anywhere else. They still don't need to learn how to hide from mass murderers such as America breeds. Out last mass murder was in 1996. The government instituted a buyback program to get excess and unlicenced guns out of the community. Stricter rules were applied to ensure that guns were limited to what is reasonable in a civilian population. No, you won't buy an AR15 in the local department store here. And we've had nor more Port Arthur massacre3s either.

I routinely thank God for my parents bringing me to Australia. Yes, it's on the road to destruction like most of the Western world. I am English by birth. It's a hell hole there now, and getting worse. Preachers being locked up for calling a man dressed as a woman "he". Or for quoting God's word with respect to homosexuality. I lived in New Zealand for a while. They have gone to extreme wokeness. If I had to choose to live elsewhere, it would be in a conservative part of the USA. Other than that, Australia is the best of a bad lot.

If I was younger, I'd be learning Mandarin. It will come in handy when China takes over.

? Do you not read your own news? Why do you think BLM started up?

You really think that civilians with guns can stand against government forces with tanks and planes? You need to get a grip on reality.
