Moses died because he got old.

The Bible doesn't say that, either.

The Bible does not say that Moses was "taken by God."

Why do you keep insisting things that the Bible does not say?
Wow, why are you resisting the reason Moses died in peak physical condition, surely you know why? I mean Deut 34 tells you!

"So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Yahweh" Verse 5

According to Yahweh's Word Moses died!! - that's without question!!! I am asking you why was his life taken and what did Israel learn from this?

Two very simple lessons!

It shouldn't be this hard VARob!

The Bible does not say Moses was in "peak physical condition." It says "his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated."

"So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Yahweh" Verse 5
He died in Moab without going into the promised land. That's what God told him, and that's what happened. It does not say God killed him.

According to Yahweh's Word Moses died!! - that's without question!!!
See above.

I am asking you why was his life taken
The Bible does not say Moses' life was taken. You keep trying to get me to answer you according to what you mistakenly believe.

and what did Israel learn from this?

What's seemingly hard is for you to understand that the Bible does not say the things you claim it does.

When a person dies according to God's Word what do you think that means?

For some reason you don't want to know the reason for his death or it's lesson to Israel.

I find that extremely odd.

It does not say Moses died according to God's Word, it says he died without going into the promised land.

You understand it as saying God killed him.
I understand it as saying Moses died without going unto the promised land, which is what God told him.

God does not kill His servants.

Okay so now we are getting closer:

"So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Yahweh"

He died then because he was not allowed to cross over as a result of his sin.

What was the lesson for Israel?

The reason for his death was that he was old and he died. The reason he was not permitted to go into the promised land was because of his sin at Kadesh, striking the rock instead of speaking to it, as God had commanded him.

or it's lesson to Israel.

I find that extremely odd.

I'm curious what you think the "lesson to Israel" was..

It appears you dont know God also....He did what Abraham was minded to do with Isaac!

Moses did not die of natural causes which happened to be at a precise place and time as God had commanded.

I'm curious what you think the "lesson to Israel" was..
If God can end the life of His Servant whom he spoke to face 2 face...how seriously does God take sin and transgression of his laws?

If you were in the camp below and you were told your leader is going to die and not cross over because of his sin would you have an element of fear of Him who gives and takes away life?

God tested Abraham, and stopped him before he killed Isaac.

It was God's plan for Jesus to be killed to redeem mankind, but God didn't kill Jesus Christ, the devil (and people working for him) did.

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

1 Cor 2:7 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

So you are saying that Abraham would not have done what God did to His Son? Read Hebrews 11:17 with care!

I just need to hear you say it clearly and to think about what you are saying before we go forward on this thread.

Thanks

Re Moses - the lesson for Israel is that Yahweh demands total obedience and that the success of their entrance into the land de-
pended upon their individual application of His law.

Are you suggesting the camp did not know Moses was remaining behind? You know he handed over his position to Joshua yeah?

Abraham would have done it. God stopped him.
God knew he would do to Isaac what He was going to do to His Son - correct and that was the lesson Abraham took from that experience.

The only person who was totally obedient to the law was Jesus Christ.

Moses died BEFORE Israel crossed the Jordan., And yes, I know Joshua was given command.

Enough for tonight. Heading for bed.
