What do you mean and? You asked for a verse that shows faith is a gift, didn't you? That's what I gave you
Here:

" I said I acknowledge faith as a gift."

another one:

[Gal 5:22 KJV] 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

No I did not. I acknowledge faith as a gift. How many times must I say this???

I do not believe I have ever seen anyone say they manufactured their own faith.

What does that even mean? I acknowledge faith as a gift. Not something
that was forced on me, nor something I manufactured magically out of my unbelief.

I said I acknowledge faith as a gift.

If I'm drowning at sea, do I need God to rescue me and get me aboard the lifeboat before I realize I need to reach out for the flotation device? Of course not; all I need to know is I'm drowning and need rescued.

Okay, sorry, guess I misunderstood you.
Well, if you repeatedly misunderstand straightforward, to the point, easy-to-understand statements like that...

But no. I will not finish that sentence. I accept your apology.

:)

It does leave me wondering what you have understood of all we have said to each other .

But I also understand that speaking to multiple people with varying views all at the same time can be confusing.

Got you confused with HeIsHere - we were discussing that.
No worries .:D

Perhaps we should recap .:unsure::giggle:

It seems what I have difficulty grasping from what you say is the idea that having to do anything such as accepting regarding
God's gift, His grace, and gift of grace and faith somehow nullifies it as a gift, as grace, and then makes it count as a work.

That analogy is incorrect. The correct analogy is if a person is already dead and are oblivious to their
plight. Someone else comes by and places them into a lifeboat and administers a miraculous cure that retunes them to life.
What did they do to assist in their rescue?

Gonna jump in here if you do not mind .:D

Just because this idea that we have no idea of our plight seems erroneous.

Man's search for meaning and purpose is ages old. God made us that way.

God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though
He is not far from each one of us. ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’

Well, if you have to accept it to have it then can't be a gift - it is a quid pro quo - with acceptance as your part of the transaction.
Since we're recapping, first, I do not think that our faith is what brings us salvation. Second, how would
you interpret this verse that says true faith comes by the Holy Spirit, considering that true faith is by the Holy Spirit who only indwells those who become born-again.

[Gal 5:22 KJV] 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Not possible. Someone spiritually dead is obvious to their condition.

[Eph 2:1 KJV] 1 And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

How can something not be a gift any more just because I have accepted the gift offered to me? That makes no sense.

Acknowledging it as a gift does not make it "not a gift" either.

Were the Israelites oblivious to their condition? They kept returning to and calling upon God specifically because they were
aware of their plight and need of Him even as they kept turning away, being disobedient, and not being born again of the Spirit.

Because a part of the gift is in the indwelling of the gift. The faith mentioned below is Christ's faith and is not of ourselves because
it is a gift.

[Eph 2:8 KJV] 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

If you read it in the dark you will see how worthless works are.
*Words on a page are worthless in the dark also. Hooray for apps that read the Bible to me in the dark! .:giggle:

*Oh! Unless you read Braille .;)

Yes, they were oblivious to the truth.

[Heb 4:2 KJV] 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it].

The "world" could never mean the "elect" in the following verses:
1. John 1:10 The world knew him not
2. John 7:7 The world hates Christ
3. John 8:23 The world consists of the unsaved Jews
Not so... There are scriptures in the old testament that tell us that Jews and Gentiles will come to Jerusalem to worship. This is what the New Testament says. Romans 9:23-26 "And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God."
