Yeah, there's always exceptions. But I think he didn't know that about your sister in law.
it was his comment about excuses that Got me.

She wanted to be baptized so bad. She begged to be baptized.. But it could not be done. About the best they could do would be to sprinkle her. But thats not what baptism (immersion) is.

I am not condemning them but the Bible says water baptism is a part of salvation.

If there were medical reasons then water baptism would have to apply as long as they believe it.
The Bible says we are immersed by the HS into Christ. Baptism in water is not salvic.. That is a misconception sadly not unlike the jew trying to insert another tradition That represented Cleansing (circumcision) as required for salvation

So you are United Pentecostal? It always astonishes me when people ignore Matt 28:20

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,"

What do you do with this verse? It was right from the mouth of Jesus!
I love how it says baptize THEM….

8. Unlike the "Jesus Only" people, baptism has always been "in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost". Those who attack the doctrine of the Trinity conveniently forget that those were the words of Christ in Matthew 28:19.
Please share scripture that references the use of the phrase I baptize you in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost by anyone administering water baptism.

Everyone should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, only in His name and never in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The last type of baptism hasn't any Biblical basement and the only true form of baptism is in the name of Jesus Christ. We meet a lot of times in the Scriptures that apostles were baptizing people in the first century in the name of Jesus Christ. Trinity formula is not from God! This is the Message for us for the last days and we were informed about it from God with the service of brother Branham. Everything should be turned into the original version; we see it in Malachi 4:6. And our Lord told us that we should be baptized and everyone who says that you shouldn't is a liar!
Sadly, many do not realize that every detailed record of water baptism by the apostles was administered in the name of Jesus Christ. This truth is confirmed in Acts 2:36-42, 8:12-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16. The apostles knew what Jesus meant when He said to use a singular name. (Matt. 28:19) The use of the phrase Father, Son and Holy Ghost, rather than the name of Jesus is nothing more than a tradition begun by the forerunners of the Roman Catholic Church around 325 A.D.

It is prophesied by Isaiah that Jesus would be called the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, so why the hair splitting?

Isaiah 9:6. Understand before interpreting for others. God bless you in all manners.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
If using the phrase, or the name of the Lord Jesus is optional, why is there not one biblical record of the phrase ever being used? Jesus actually gave the apostles a command that they obeyed; they baptized each and every person in the name of the Lord Jesus. For there is none other name under heaven whereby we MUST be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Mark 16:16 says: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. " That does not mean whoever believes and is dunked in physical water will be saved. The word 'baptize' means to be washed (free from the stain or penalty of sin). So, when we read: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. " , it means whoever believes and is washed free from the stain of sin (forgiven) will be saved" Once a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, they are forgiven, washed free from the stain of sin. We read: "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. " Another way the Bible puts it is that we are 'clean'. That does not mean that physical water has washed away physical dirt. It means we are clean as regards the stain of sin. We read: "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. "
People do become clean through the word. The word states obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus is what remits an individual's sin. This being possible for those who willingly accept the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who believe the word will act in obedience to what it says and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Many scriptures confirm this truth. Also, the Apostle Paul was informed of this truth as well:

Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name. ' Acts 22:16, ESV: And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.

Because that is NOT what Isaiah revealed. In fact Isaiah has several passages which show that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as THREE distinct divine persons. And the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist (Baptizer) actually confirmed this. The Son was in the water, the Holy Spirit took the form of a dove, and the Father spoke from Heaven and commended the Son. The Didache is an ancient 2nd century witness to Christian baptism being in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Why do you suppose there is not one reference to an individual being water baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost in the biblical record? According to the word, itself, truth is established by at least 2-3 confirming scriptures. Note the use of the name of the Lord Jesus in Acts 2:36-42, 8:12-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16. Significant?

We all have a choice to accept of reject scripture:
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isa. 9:6

Is it not also written thatt we should go out into the world and baptize those who come to the Lord in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit?

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

"Baptism" means immersion. It is not limited to being submerged in water. The verse you cited means immersing people in the name(s) of the Godhead: teaching all people.

I find your replay to be confused at best. The quote is from the very words of Jesus concerning baptism, not of anyone else. I like to hear Jesus and obey Him. I like to think that you do too.

In the Old testament we first learn that God is One. In the New Testament Jesus Yeshua repeats this teaching declaring, "I and the Father are One."

If people wish to teach that God is not One, this is their own thinking and not of our Father Who does not lie, nor of His Son Who does not lie. If the Holy Spirit does not attest this truth for you, perhaps were you to think in terms of all the mysteries that are yet to be revealed includes this and simply, as a child, believe what God has taught us, never amending His Word to say He was not being truthful when teaching us that He is One.

God Himself knows! I think it would please God regardless that she WANTED to be baptized the standard way and that she actually got baptized despite set backs anyway. I hope she realizes that and is comforted.

The Bible has set rules for certain things but has shown fair examples of exceptions for those things. I'm thinking about the rule of sons only inheriting their father's land and that one family that had only daughters. They ended up inheriting the land in order to keep it in the family.

Thank you

She went home to be with the lord about 20 years ago.

I praise God that she is home with the Lord, in rest and comfort, free from whatever ailed her back then! Plus, she doesn't have to go through all the world events that we're seeing right now.

God is ONE and God is also THREE in One. This is "the Mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ". Why do people stumble over this, rather than simply believe it without trying to rationalize it or explain it? No one needs to explain God to anyone.

You just condemned everyone in the OT. and people in the NT who through medical reasons could not be baptized in water.
The command to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus for remission of sin is a God-given condition for those living in the NT dispensation. Jesus prophesied that repentance and remission of sin would be preached in His name to all nations BEGINNING in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47) The command to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sin was initially presented on the Day of Pentecost in Jerusalem just as Jesus said it would. (Acts 2:38)

You are totally out to lunch since you have just contradicted the words of Christ. If "that name is Jesus" then why did Jesus not simply say "baptize in the name of Jesus"? But since He specifically said what He intended to say, you had better pay heed to His words.
Actually the biblical record confirms there is no contradiction in how the apostles water baptized and what Jesus said. He said to baptize in a name, and the apostles administered all baptisms in the name of Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is the one who was crucified for the sins of all mankind.
