Zechariah 2:10-11
"Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,"
says the LORD.
"Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you."
He became flesh and pitched His tent among us

That's what the ad was about.... -that's who said something about hating people. Jesus. And he was similarly accused of dividing.

Just spray paint in big letters on the baseball field JESUS SAVES, have Jesus mascots, give out loaves and fishes instead of corndogs, and have a J-e-s-u-s cheerleading team.
You can also sing 'Jesus what a wonderful name' in the superbowl. There can be Team Jesus vs Team Pharisees on the field. That would be er...interesting to watch.

the nations will perish from His land
"dominion" is the province of a king.
a monarch.
the "kingdom" of God is decidedly not a democracy.
He is not 'elected'
and none of this changes the fact He dwells in heaven, but immigrated to earth to dwell among us - where He was hated, unjustly accused, rejected, ignored and slandered because He was not of this world.

Jesus was God. God created the heavens and the earth. Human limits and titles do not confine his sovereignty. Jesus (God) could never be an immigrant when all that exists is of and by him.

Interesting post, and I realize these commercials have everyone thinking, as it's not entirely clear where they're all coming from.
Let me add my quick 2 cents.
Immigration:
Whatever we think of immigration, I'm not sure that's how I'd label the work of Christ.
If we're going to talk about his preincarnate existence, if that's going to be our perspective, then we can hardly call his coming to earth an "immigration"... since he owned the place.
I don't know about you... but I've never immigrated to a place I already owned.
Modern Politics & Ancient History:
Personally, I have a feeling we might be better off just keeping modern political words, with their peculiar modern political baggage, out of the gospel narrative.
The way we parse words, culture, and politics, in 2023, is just nothing like the 1st century.
- I think this organization, HeGetsUs, is intentionally inverting their hermeneutic methods, to sort of do some eisegesis, and inject modern cultural narratives into the scripture. And I think we can find this hermeneutic failure mentioned right on their website.

Jesus was a Judaean born in Bethlehem though people didnt recongnise him as Judean since he lived in Nazareth Galilee (Mary's hometown) . His family fled to Egypt to escape persecution under King Herod. At the time Judaea was a far flung province occupied by the Roman Empire.
When he entered Jerusalem because of his claim to the throne (King of the Jews) or King or Israel people didnt really reconginse him as such cos 'nothing good came out of Nazareth' and he wasnt highly educated or religious like th Pharisees or Saducees who stuck with their rigid Jewish customs.
However he was Jewish, he was circumcised on the 8th day and presented to the temple at Jerualem, Mary had to sacrifice two turtledoves because they were too poor to afford the ritual offering which was a lamb.
Correct me if Im wrong about this but Jesus was refugee when he was a child and also in those days people migrated for work etc and EVERYONE that was Jewish made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem every year for the passover. So migration wasnt foreign to the Hebrews they were used to things like famines etc where they had to leave Israel and go live in Egypt or the mediterranean which a lot of Jews did, they were also exiled and had to live in Babylon.
