If we are far removed from it I think its churlish to say as a Christian oh yippee it means the end of the world as prophesised. Why do some people have this attitude?
I missed that post, who has this attitude?

I think she might have thought we (you and I) had that attitude because we mentioned that there would be "earthquakes in diverse places" toward the end? However, it's not churlish to point out a potential sign of the end and, personally, I've been in tears over the death toll of these earthquakes. Assuming we don't care about the lives lost because "yippee the world is ending" is a pretty awful thing to say. I don't think anyone has that attitude.

Lord, I pray for your mercy and grace during this great tragedy. May you create miracles inline with your will during this time that point to your love and truth. amen.

They can predict earthquakes based on us knowing the major fault lines on Earth, keeping track of pressure building up based on previous faults and movement along those fault lines, and based on Solar CME's that hit earth.

Basically they can give you an idea of the location, the fault line and the range of the possible size of the earthquake as well as a time frame.

They cannot predict specifically when and where.

However, the birds in Turkey were going nuts immediately before the earthquake and it does appear that animals can detect an imminent earthquake, perhaps by some high pitched sounds we can't hear.
Thank you for the reminder of yet one more use of animals and birds. God has provided a wildlife sanctuary that I enjoyed at lunch, watching the young Cardinals explore and socialize. Anyone who has raised animals, spent time in the forest or a plain where there is a prairie dog town knows how they alert to threats. I will need to keep reminding myself whenever outside of this communication among various creatures. To become far more skilled at deciphering wildlife behavior may be important as we see the days approaching.

Well over 30 thousand dead at this time, are you surprised??? Where the devil throne is in Turkey!!(Rev 2:13) And these people still do not get it! I am sad for the children, and believers who may have got caught up in this disaster. The closer one is to the devil the more terrible things will happen, and this is just the beginning for them! Time for them to repent, but they will not and so it will be that many more terrible things shall befall them. sad!

Could she really be that pathetic? I refuse to assume a Christian could think that believing the Bible and teaching the bible and warning people to receive Jesus and be saved from the coming destruction could mean that you are so churlish.

Speaking of animals, this just in!

Train derailment releases toxic flammable chemicals into the air. But no worries, the EPA says that even though the water is discolored," it is safe to drink."

Yes, the health issues the animals are displaying is simply the fact that they will need time to adjust to drinking the toxic brew.

It's like that old saying "you can lead a horse to a toxic spill but you can't make him drink, especially if the fumes kill him"

“Smoke and chemicals from the train, that’s the only thing that can cause it, because it doesn’t just happen out of nowhere,” he said. “The chemicals that we’re being told are safe in the air, that’s definitely not safe for the animals … or people.”
He added: “People’s cats are getting sick and dying, and people’s other birds that they have in their house that they weren’t being able to evacuate either. It’s just it’s not safe for them.”
Wildlife around the area and even as far as 10 miles away have begun exhibiting health issues and dying off.
In the immediate vicinity, chickens have been found dead about 10 miles away, with residents saying they perceive weird chemical smells."

Don't worry the authorities say the air and water are safe. Reporters are supposed to share that press release. Disobedience will not be tolerated.

I think this is just coincidence because if this were true the liability in this accident would be billions of dollars as all the surrounding real estate has been ruined. As a result of that insurance for future train and truck loads would go up significantly. So I highly doubt the powers that be will conclude this is anything more than a coincidence.

I agree. This location will be considered a toxic dump zone to perspective home owners/ buyers. When EPA covers for these insurance and gt agents, you know someone paid or knows someone there.

Its hard to count bodies in an earthquake zone but everyone needs to be accounted for

in nz we have a census coming up
we also have storm warnings of a cyclone headng our way with torrential rain but it hasnt dumped on us yet so far, the first one we had no warning.

In christchurch, they first had one earthquake where no one was killed as it happened at night when everyone was in bed, but the second one in which 185 died was around lunchtime. Then they kept getting aftershocks.

Wild Animals do have a sixth sense or instinct it seems to leave before an earthquake hits so are a bit more reliable than weather forecasts. Unlike humans they are not penned in to one location.

Many people will say after a disaster that those people didnt listen to God but see having faith doesnt mean you are immune to the vagaries of the weather. It rains on the righteous and unrighteous alike. The righteous are perhaps better equipped to handle it and do what is right to help others in the event of one thats all.

People may survive an earthquake but they may still be injured or have trauma that will affect them years later.
so while death tolls can be helpful in gauging the magnitude of disaster it doesnt tell you just how devastating an earthquake can be for everyone. When the ground beneath your feet gives way, what do you do and who can you trust. In the industrial age, rich people had their homes built far away from the noisy, smelly industry that was often a toxic dumping ground. But poorer people had no choice but to live near where they worked unless they could afford a car. They didnt have 'second homes' they could go to. And nowhere they could evacuate to.

So its interesting peoples attitudes seem quite divided between rich and poor.

Really the safest place you can go is to God.

Jesus did warn people about what would happen to Jerusalem and they should be prepared or run for the hills. Dont look back like lots Wife.

People have always lived on the edge though and courted danger. I was watching a doco on Whakaari, White Island volcano, which erupted while tourists were visiting the island. 21 died from the eruption. Nobody goes there anymore.

The most incredible drone footage of the Earthquake that I have seen. This includes a huge crack in the earth 150 miles long. Bizarrely Youtube is warning that the video may be offensive? I suppose that for those who lie and try to cover up the destruction it is offensive if everyone sees what truly is going on.

5.3 million people in Syria are now homeless!

...Had news reports of earthquake in Wellington NZ 6 something on the richter scale? No casualties that I know of though people in Wellington DO know they live in an a earthquake zone and are prepared for one.

So things are a bit shaky! Also this El Nina weather pattern/cycle is back again.

Waggers keep going on about 'climate change' well... From a Christian perspective its its just earth pangs...the groaning of creation. Romans 8:22

we live in a fallen world (unfortunately for us humans) that desperately needs redemption. Lets do what we can to love our neighbours and look after each other. Kindness goes a long way.

They are saying the death toll could go as high as 180,000.

Pray for a major outpouring of the Spirit and a revival for Turkey.

LUKE CHAPTER 21
29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. KJV.

We are to be NOT ignorant of the times as such that believe it all was fulfilled in 70 as the preterist do but rather this.................
